I don't think that it's
Gonna rain again today
There's a devil at your side
But an angel on the way

Someone hit the light
'Cause there's more here to be seen
When you caught my eye
I saw everywhere I'd been
And wanna go to

You came on your own
That's how you'll leave
With hope in your hands
And air to breathe

I won't disappoint you
As you fall apart
Some things should be simple
Even an end has a start

Someone hit the light
'Cause there's more here to be seen
When you caught my eye
I saw everywhere I'd been
And wanna go to

You came on your own
That's how you'll leave
With hope in your hands
And air to breathe
You'll lose everything
By the end
Still my broken limbs
You find time to mend

More and more people I
Know are getting ill
Pull something good from the
Ashes, now be still

You came on your own
That's how you'll leave
With hope in your hands
And air to breathe
You'll lose everything
By the end
Still my broken limbs
You choose to mend

You came on your own
That's how you'll leave
You came on your own
That's how you'll leave

You came on your own
You came on your own

Thank You Scientist
We Are Scientists

Too much more of this and my sexual persuasion will start to change

Pink Turns Blue
This is terrific!

That made me laugh. I was thinking along the same lines!
How do you account for a 10 year gap in comments? Just a little blow away as I assume this song has t hit Bill’s playlist in that long. Me likely!
so amazing. and so much more that Interpol
Played at 11. Gotta be.

This is the very definition of 'a driving beat'.

'Smokers' is also excellent.

I was about to make almost the exact same comment!! Thanks, at least I know I'm not the only sick mind here :-)

Makes me think of that sentence sometimes written above urinals,
"the future of <insert your country's name here> is in your hands".

End this. That would be a start.
Interpol, you suck, no matter what you're calling yourself in this song.

Saw them at the Melt!-Festival a few weeks ago. Great gig, great band. Great album as well.

That's what I thought
Ah, Ian Curtis, we miss ye, lad
I really don't like their singer. Overwrought and grating as hell. It makes me think of what Bruce Campbell would sound like in a fake parody rock band
...my brain hears scolding of poor orgy ettiquette...

No it's fat Mary and her four sisters!
Truely a great piece. Hope to hear more of this kind of music.
YES!
re career set: The Pretenders? this song reminds me a lot of Interpol, who i love.
I give it a 2. And that means I am being nice. These guys are a rip-off of a host of bands who do a much better job of re-interpreting the good ole '80's. Like Interpol.

Yes, but so catchy that by the middle of the song you are tired of it. really goes nowhere for me.

Wish in one hand... ;^)
Reminds of stuff i used to hear on KROC (L.A.) back in time when it played great stuff!
They ripped off the "hourly chime" melody.

Has a serious 80s groove to it. Thinking early Echo or maybe the Numbers.
I just bumped it from 7 to 8. Like you care.
Like it more each time I hear this. :bananasplit:

Did a ctrl+F to search for Joy Division in this string before posting my own. Saved me a bit of work.
Interpol, why did you change your name?

i still can't believe this isn't interpol.

LOL - did I say I didn't like this? Before you start to shove people into boxes to match your perceptions, ask yourself if they'd be listening to Radio Paradise if they weren't "adventurists".

I agree, I had to turn the volume completely down. Of course, what could follow that song? Except, maybe, "Here Comes The Sun"?

Has a Kitchens of Distinction or Trash Can Sinatras sound with the sonic oscillating guitar effect and a bit of the Killers in the delivery IMO. Catchy, will have to listen to more. Thanks Bill!

I don't care what Tom Smith says, he sounds strikingly like Ian Curtis from Joy Division. Sadly, the Editors aren't nearly as original as Joy Division was.
Nevertheless, it is nice to hear that voice. It's as if Ian rose from the grave.

Very inspired by early goth. I like this a lot.

Yes!Buy it!It is very very good, like the first CD!

I just uploaded it. And, yes, it's much better. More power. More intensity. {later} And it's been rejected with no LRC plays. Color me puzzled. :-(
I like this song despite being annoyed that so many of these new new wave bands sound just like the predecessors and sometimes each other (Elefant, anyone?)
Anyone else have the whole CD? How good? Worth a buy?
I was completely prepared to dismiss this tune... Interpol (modern day's BeeGees) or countless others. But as I listened, I could hear a real earnestness and wit to the lyrics. Definitely worth another listen. Likeable anyway.
Joy Division anyone?
These last 2 songs sound like they are describing dying to me. 4:18 pm - Editors - An End Has A Start 4:15 pm - Patty Griffin - Blue Sky Not necessarily depressing.
Sounds good to me! Of course I have been a Depeche Mode Fan for years....

I'm with Bill on this. Clever, maybe it will grow on me. solid 6
These guys have definitely heard Interpol.
reminds me of Morrissey.
New editors cd?? Awesome! These guys tore up Lollapalooza last year.
New Editors?! Nice! Update - Sounds *a lot* like the last album...I look forward to the rest of it though. They play a good show.
