Old yellow bricks, love's a risk
Quite the little escapologist
Love's so miffed when you wish
For a thousand places better than this

You are the fugitive but you don't know what you're running from
You can't kid us and you couldn't trick anyone
Houdini, love, you don't know what you're running away from

Who wants to sleep in a city that never wakes up?
Blinded by nostalgia
Who wants to sleep in a city that never wakes up?

She was enraged by the way
That the emperor put traps in the cage
And the days, she deemed dull
Leading to nights reading beer bottles

You're such a fugitive but you don't know what you're running from
You can't kid us and you couldn't trick anyone
Houdini, love, you don't know what you're running away from

Who wants to sleep in a city that never wakes up?
Blinded by nostalgia
Who wants to sleep in a city that never wakes up?

You're at a loss just because
It wasn't all that you thought it was
You are the fugitive, but you don't know what you're running away from

She said, "I want to sleep in a city that never wakes up
And revel in nostalgia"
"I know," I said, "He wants to sleep in a city that never wakes up, but
Dorothy was right, though"

Their spastic and fun what?

Does that jangly guitar sound a bit like the Knight Rider theme song? No? Just me? hmmm.
absolutely, I thought it was just at the end, but upon closer listening, the Knight Rider theme song basically forms the backbone of this entire track

Paypala.
I love that Dorothy was right!

Man, kids these days and their noisy "rock and roll"!!!!!
I like this song, but you r right it is not the right time of day. I can't think of what the right time would be even right now-
Maybe it's the time of day, but goddamn this thing gives me a headache. 2 - the prototypical "marginal" song.
"Dorofee wus rite Doe!"
Franz Arctic Monkeynand?
This is merely noise
Can't understand why everyone gets so excited about this band, who I find completely unlistenable. I have to say that as a Brit, I'm embarrassed by Arctic Monkeys, just in case the rest of the world thinks this is the best we can do.

Not just you.
"don't know what you're running away from..." This! a generous 2...

...or the Bay City Rollers? ...or The Knack?
I gave a listen to Get The Knack a little while back for the first time in about 20 years. I'd remembered it as being a much shallower brand of pop than it is, probably from over-saturation of My Sharona. But give it another listen, you might find that it's a better album than you remember, or you might not. But there's no denyin' that Good Girls Don't is a solid piece of rock'n'roll.

WHAAAAAAAAAA?!?!? Perhaps you've been told that you were listening to Dire Straits when you were actually listening to Oasis.
No, I'd happily split the prize for most over-rated band between Dire Straits and Oasis. In fact, I'd pay good money to watch them fight over it. My cash would be on Liam to give Knopfler a right pasting.

To whom it may concern, I agree. With utmost sincerity, STINGRAY!

dear neil, no, i'm sure the singer is not trying to be annoying. are you? rah
Would be a 7 if the lyrics didn't suck. I give it a 6 for the tune.
Bleh!
Clashesque
I think this song is most likeable!

I'm hearing a lot of FF in a lot of AM.
Franz Ferdinand, Gorrilas, and a bit of white stripes too - not a bad mix.

Ah yes, this week's "Next Big Thing". Yawn.
That last few seconds sounds like an interpretation of the Knight Rider theme. Nice!
Am I the only one hearing a lot of Franz Ferdinand in this?
That was a pretty good segue... Twilight Zone crossfaded into this... nice. Haven't heard this song before either... I'll have to check these monkeys out.
OOOOOOOOO! New CD!! I'm so excited!!
