Lyrics:

Hey, I said you're godless and
It seems like you're a soulless friend
As thoughtless as you were back then
I swear that you are godless

Hey, I guess you're lonely when
I gave you all it took so then
Stranger than it's ever been
I guess, it's what you wanted

Oh wait, it seems, that lonely I will be
I beg, I plead, but this is all that I have gotten

Hey, as for the day my friend
To hope that you could ever bend
I swear you are, I swear you are
Oh, I swear that you are godless

Hey, I said you're godless man
Hey, and you're a soulless friend
Hey, I said you're thoughtless
And I swear, I swear

You're godless, you're godless
God, you're godless
I just hear now this version,
this is great sound

I saw the Dandy's last week. Great show. Two hours non stop (except for a quick bathroom break!). They played Godless by request, but asked the audience to help with the trumpet part. It sounded great.
Nice remix. I like the original, too, but find it a little plodding. This gets the foot tapping.
Yep...still love it.....big beautiful wall of sound.
I have to agree with most of the comments so far. I love this song but I hate this remix. Please play the original version instead.

PLEASE MAKE IT STOP

I was just thinking the same thing. This remix is a mess.

Absolutely.  This version needs to be tossed in the trash.

Earth To Andy Warhols- out next week!
Am I still on RP?
Had to login to say that this is terrible... really terrible.... really really terrible.
I cannot listen to any of this version now without thinking of Bill's dedication of the song to Ann Coulter!

I'd always heard good things about the Dandy Warhols, but this song has no more than 2 chords, and no variation... Hope it's only the remix that makes it suck this badly.
The original is far better.

If you like things watered down.
Watered down?!...are you high..I think when it's one of those "Mash-up's" done by some d.j it could be called "watered down" but when two great bands come together like this it works...by the way if you are high..throw a little my way...

But it's perfect at 11.46 in France

I like Massive Attack, but it makes this sound like a dopey trite club mix without any character. Something that should have been tried,(and was) but relegated to the garbage can.

This song is Godless.

I disagree with this agree to the agreement. Amazing remix. I love it!
I disagree with the disagree to the agree of the agreement. I like the original WAY better. More feeling in IMO.
Re-mixes are for Re-tard musicians. Don't get me wrong, they're fun but usually rip of all that work form the real misicians. In this case it's on their album so I say "Okay."
Can you imagine Zia shakin her chest about to this?

I agree with many of the comments here: Godless= one of the best songs ever. Ever. This version/remix= Meh, but still since it's such a great tune would be impossible to ruin it. Just like the original better.

Can't improve on perfection, imo.

I agree with this agreement.
mmmmmm ctt ........but i like the other version better.
Kinda not really fair to atheists, neh?
If I had heard this version 1st, I never would have bought the cd (from Radio Paradise link to show my support and gratitude), which I did after hearing the other version. I think that says it.
Remixes often leave me cold, but this rocks!
so much good music...so little time
This version is not even close to being as good as the original.

now your talkin ...
Godless = Godlike! 10 fer shure
Cool version.
I just finished watching "dig!" and I have to say, while I'm not a huge fan of The Dandy Warhols or The Brian Jonestown Massacre, I really enjoyed that documentary (although Courtney did come across as being a bit of a jerk sometimes.) Joel makes me wish I had a band with an opening for a tambourine player!
The remix took this tune from 7 or 8 to 5 or 6. I usually like Massive Attack, but they seem to have missed the target on this one.

Man, I hate it when a band trashes their own song. This is only palatable because the horns are still there.
Don't think it's a trashing of the song...it's Massive Attack's take on it...their interpretaion...

I remember hearing (and seeing) this song for the first time on a late night music show at 3am, about 5 years ago...since then....I've seen them live and still love them The best song! Remix though is okay, bit more grunge and grunt than the original...all good!
This is basically the best song ever created. I love the horns! I don't feel that the remix adds to the song though.
Gawd this is great!
Hmmm. This is one of my favorite tracks from 13 Tales, but I'm not sure I like the heavier mix so much.
I must have this remix!
