When I was a young boy
My mama said to me
There's only one girl in the world for you
And she probably lives in Tahiti

I'd go the whole wide world
I'd go the whole wide world just to find her

Or maybe she's in the Bahamas
Where the Caribbean Sea is blue
Weeping in a tropical moonlit night
Because nobody's told her 'bout you

I'd go the whole wide world
I'd go the whole wide world just to find her
I'd go the whole wide world
I'd go the whole wide world to find out where they hide her
I'd go the whole wide world
I'd go the whole wide world just to find her

Why am I hanging around in the rain out here
Trying to pick up a girl
Why are my eyes filling up with these lonely tears
When there's girls all over the world

Well is she lying on a tropical beach somewhere
Underneath the tropical sun
Pining away in a heatwave there
Hoping that I won't be long

I should be lying on that sun-soaked beach with her
Caressing her warm brown skin
And then in a year or maybe not quite
We'll be sharing the same next of kin

I'd go the whole wide world
I'd go the whole wide world just to find her
I'd go the whole wide world
I'd go the whole wide world to find out where they hide her
I'd go the whole wide world
I'd go the whole wide world just to find her
I'd go the whole wide world
I'd go the whole wide world to find out where they hide her
Yeah!

I just saw Stranger Than Fiction last night. Cool that they used this song and it works great too. But it's a weird feeling to go thru life being the only person I've ever known to ever hear or like or sing along with this song, and here it is in this movie. 8.
Wow. This is really bad. Voice, music, lyrics, the total package. Sucks.
Hmmm.....looks like nobody's neutral about Wreckless Eric. Little wonder, with that voice; but this is a fine song. IMHO, he was distinctly better live, in the "Stiffs Live" album. When he wailed out "Semaphore Signals" it sent chills down my spine. His snarling rendition of "Reconnez Cherie" beat the studio version by a mile. You don't listen to Wreckless Eric for refined vocal technique. When he connects, though, it's raw, crude power. If you demand refinement, listen to classical music.
"Pure shyte" as me pommie friend says. 1
Bwahahahahaha 1/10

It sure is. I loved that movie. Will Ferrell did a cool job of rock'n this one out.
Raiders of the lost 80's rock strike again!
