I've been casing your joint for the best years of my life
Like the look of your stuff outta sight
When I'm hungry and when I'm cold
When I'm having it rough or just getting old
Listen up sweet child of mine
Have I got news for you
Nobody leaves this place alive
They'll die here join the queue

Better man the barricades
I'm coming in tonight
Had a line of my dust outta sight
When I wander and when I roam
I'll find a soul I can trust I'm coming home

Listen up sweet child of mine
Have I got news for you
Nobody leaves this place alive
They'll die and join the queue
Sing it
I-I'm gonna break right into heaven
I can't wait anymore

Heaven's gates won't hold me
I'll saw those suckers down
Laughing loud at your locks when they hit the ground
Every icon in every town
Hear this, your number's up, I'm coming round

Listen up sweet child of mine
Have I got news for you
Nobody leaves this place alive
They'll die and join the queue
Sing it
I-I'm, I'm gonna break right into heaven
I can't wait anymore

How many times will I have to tell you
You don't have to wait to die
You can have it all
Any time you want it
Yeah the kingdom's all inside

20 minutes too short.
H-O-T.  Muy caliente. Blister me ears.
From Grateful Dead sedated ramble fog to blistering UK rock. Ya baby.
wicked cool man  (22 year old piece of good groove : )

Amen, brother!  Drummer is an able accomplice here, and their solid footing allows for guitar and vocal freedom — which are also handled admirably on this cut. Nice tune, and very well executed.

How in the world did I miss so much good music?  No matter; Bill is gradually catching me up on everything.
Rock on!!  {#Drummer}  {#Bananajam}

Smokin'!
The cut is 18 years old but as fresh as my coffee and like a shot of good booze!
Thanks Bill.
Blow my ears off!

There were as successful as they wanted to be, they were pretty big when they came out.

John Squire may still be the best, least known guitarist on the planet. Amazing chops, and he simply evaporated...

All we need are The Charlatans, and Madchester will rule again!

"Sometimes", I said!!!

Good to hear something with a little more energy on RP!  I'll take more Stone Roses and faster paced music, Bill.

AGREEMENT - though I am still happy with the fine mix!

True - little less girls and little more rock were an improvement to the good!

10  for band, album and song!
Sounding good today...sets and fits the moment and mood!  Thanks!  Good to have looping in the head later while hiking in The Flatirons...

It looks like there'll be a third coming, as the Roses have announced a reunion and comeback tour which has been the talk of the musical town over here, even appearing on main news bulletins.

True, but this is truly a gem, and IMHO one of their best efforts. the guitar work is purely fantastic!

Nice news for a change.   the news in the states is so depressing these days.  I don't pay attention to it.  Football is good ! {#Music}

Definately cooks!  An 8.
Here's to "storming heaven".
Jam-A-Rama
I happen to love this album. I saw the Roses in one of their last ever gigs - an all-nighter at the Brixton Academy in late 1995. They were awesome.

I even missed the extended 4-minute intro to this track.

Thanks for playing this.

Good sound, if a bit of its time, and worth an 8. Sounds to me like yet another guy desperate for a shag - "I can't wait to break into heaven". Such simple creatures, these male rock stars - great voices, great musicians, brains in their bollox.

Great first album, The Second Coming was pants, well disappointed when it came out.
One of the best driving albums of all time.

Jesus Jones, yes, that's it!  Well, I like it.  Real nice retro guitar sound.

I like it...yes I do {#Dancingbanana_2}

To each his own. I think that your opinion is that of the majority; however, I like this disc better than their first. The guitar work is just phenomenal, as evidenced on this song. Definitely an underrated band, imo.

On the album, this song has a long, drawn out, and completely unnecessary intro section that adds nothing to the song. I'm glad RP left that off.
Good stuff.

Good but you can really hear Black Sabbath in there.

Spot on, G.

This is a good track but the whole second album is a weak shadow of the first one, which was monumentally great.
Guitar, wa-wa and drums.. wow, now that's a new and novel approach.. Hell Ozzy's guitar player eats this guy alive -- but they both suck !

Stuff the Gallaghers - this band were one of the best to come out of Manchester. They were never as much of a pain in the ass as the Gallaghers.
I couldn't agree more..Oasis were kiddies when The Stone Roses were blowing people away..along with the Happy Mondays.
VERY IMPRESSIVE...

Yep, first thing I heard in my head when this started.
Yet another reason why record companies are completely useless. This band should of had a great deal more records.
Certainly rocks.
Nice to hear this again. I find myself wishing they hadn't gone away quite so soon.

Hey Bill....a segue into Siversun Pickups - Lazy Eye would go nicely now. Excuse me for offering that which you do SO well.

nah, not really I think, not enough chord-melody/chord embellishment and out of mode variations going on. This sounds more like clapton during his cream days imo.

Actually, one morning with a hangover, this whole album sounded quite good. It's all about the volume.

Don't get your hopes up. Their parting was supposed to have been pretty acrimonious. I think one or two of them went to Primal Scream.

Great stuff and rocking
Rockin', Great Album!
Always did like the groove of this one... and the smoothness of sliding into the bridge, then back out again.
Yeah, serious cranking guitar work here, and though Mr. Squire showed similar flashes of brilliance on the Seahorses' Do It Yourself, I wish something more like this could pop out again about nowadays.
The music is cool, but the vocals are painful. Ian Brown sounds like a tone-deaf Liam Gallagher after an asthma attack.
YEAH! A great song from the Stone Roses criminally underrated second album. Pity the spaced out intro was edited out though.
Hendrixoid guitar. Too bad about the vocals.
