I'm filled with laughing gas and polluted air
This silk lasso 'round my neck
It's pulling me down
Down gently
Gently

I'm softly exhaling
You give me release

You leave me deflated
You give me release

I sometimes hear both...I think, inflection is key hear.

                    Irregardless, great song none-the-less ;)

Very special music!
Beautiful voice and desolate ambiance...
I love it!
Please more from Ane Brun!

Ah, the Hekawi Tribe. Sarge and Agarn cannot be far behind.

Balloon Ranger sounds like the title of a pulp adventure novel about Zeppelins, published about 1906 or so.

Like the song.
Somebody is influenced by Sinead!
My thoughts go to Norway.
While Ane plays in the speakers people are getting rushed to hospitals in Oslo from the large bomb blast in the city centre just an hour ago. =(
I'm intrigued
Funny. I wrote a song called 'Kite Bruin'. Who knew?
So I'm not really sure how to rate this one.  I've heard it many times now, and it's a well put together tune.  Quite a bit catchy in places.  But the chorus annoys the enamel right off of my teeth.  It's like hearing some obnoxious lake bird honking over and over during an otherwise tranquil day.
It is balloon!...

So what does a Balloon Ranger do?  Walk around the balloons and look for fallen strings and balloon fires?
I love her voice and the way she interprets her music: honest, introspective, and tonally pleasant {#Devil_pimp}
Only now, after not having heard this for several months, do I realize how much I didn't miss it.

Nice artwork - Davin!
Like the idea!
We're Saved!! I thought we were going to run out of women who sing like little girls. {#Pray}
Just saw her at the Largo in L.A. last night. The night before she was at the Hollywood Bowl with Peter Gabriel. She was perfect and very nice to us all. In person her voice is perfect. There were only about 60 of us and she took the time to thank us all and sign for us. She is as sweet and sincere as they come. I wish all could see her sing, it is a treat I would do it again in a heart beat.

My guitar just agreed.

Definitely Bm. If you are trying to play it on guitar, it is capo II, the main figure is just Am, Dm, ( Relative to the capo of course,) with a C passing note between chords in both directions.

If you are trying to play it on another instrument, it is Bm, Em with a D passing note.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hears a paean to the Blue Power Ranger...
yuck
Perhaps it's because I own the other (non-import?) copy of this one, but it took me until just now to notice the portrait in the left side of the wall.  Duh!

Still a great strummin' tune.

BallOOOOOOOOOOOOn Ranger

Someone should fix the framing here.
That's because the jerks at partytimegiftshop.com have decided to switch their (much smaller) image of a power ranger costume for a HUGE warning when it's linked from somewhere else than their page. They should be happy that they're getting free ads out, but they're obviously not that bright. Oh well. Either the posters will remove the references to this image, or newer comments will slowly push the broken images to page 2. (Or Bill fixes the comment stylesheet so that wide content will scroll rather than break the page layout.) EDIT: Looks like he did just that. Thanks, Bill!

Nice song but what's with the widescreen effect?
Grrrr, i hate when someone hijacks the width of the site. In opposite to this I really appreciate An Brun.

More like hearing cats. Yacking that is.
...there's a stunningly gorgeous episode of survivorman where les stroud crashes a hot air balloon in the south african veldt...this song doesn't neccessarily remind me of that episode, but that episode nicely epitomises a balloon ranger motif...

not again. twice in three days? I thought maybe if I listened to the lyrics this time it would be palatable. Instead, it's dragging out the metaphor painfully.

not really, there are obvious key changes though

Very clever CD cover too, well composed and tasteful effect.

I'm all for balloon rangering. Free-range balloons are the only ones to bother with- the over-filled and hormone-laden "factory-made" balloons are just dreadful, and the colors aren't near as healthy looking- they seem more artificial. Save the free-range balloons!

A balloon ranger is a person who ranges balloons. Duh. The song doesn't light my fire, but the comments here are freakin' hilarious! Thanks to all for lightening my day. c.

Unfortunately, i find this song annoying.
underbar sång!
MAgnificent bedtime album. Canadian cover different and more evocative of the feel of the cd I think.

I wonder if Bill is looking for IKEA to buy RP from him or something? Mind you it wouldnt be called Radio Paradise anymore it would be called AnoÃŒrget or something that you cant pronounce and comes with some really bad instructions and an Allen Key
AnoÃŒrget? Since when is Turkey a Scandinavian country? If Ingvar Kamprad were to buy our favorite radio station he would call it Gunnar, Odensala, or Örnsköldsvik. But sure, it would definitively come in a flat pack with an allen key.
"Maro-o-o-o-on Reindeer..."
Norway...Norge...Norske'...yummy...
I just won this CD--one of my online contests--and one of my better recent wins.
I really like this - what a lovely voice..
This is amazing. There are so many incredible musicians coming out of Scandinavia these days.
