One night to be confused
One night to speed up truth
We had a promise made
Four hands and then away

Both under influence
We had divine scent
To know what to say
Mind is a razorblade

To call for hands of above
To lean on
Wouldn't be good enough
For me, no

One night of magic rush
The start a simple touch
One night to push and scream
And then relief

Ten days of perfect tunes
The colors red and blue
We had a promise made
We were in love

To call for hands of above
To lean on
Wouldn't be good enough
For me, no

To call for hands of above
To lean on
Wouldn't be good enough

And you, you knew the hand of the devil
And you, kept us awake with wolf's teeth
Sharing different heartbeats
In one night

To call for hands of above
To lean on
Wouldn't be good enough
For me, no

To call for hands of above
To lean on
Wouldn't be good enough

Well, maybe two years ago but not now. A million sounds about right.
Love this song....
Yup, still stands up as a great cover today - I'll be another requester for the original to be played too - even straight after this!
it's an acoustic guitar masterpiece. Have tried learning the tab, and is great fun playing, but my brain isn't wired the same way as José's to play it as effortlessly as he does. Also glad to have seen him play live ... he's just brilliant.
Great song. It's a cover ya'll. The original is also great but more electronic/techno in tone.

I stopped :-)
Thank you <3
Though it would be nice to hear The Knife's original

this is an absolute masterpiece
There isn't a better song for the afternoon doldrums at work while your tummy digests lunch and you just completed a huge project, this is so incredibly soothing and perfect for the moment.
Bill, can't you see that I have work to do!

Jose is channeling

All these years later, this one stands the test of time. Still gives me goosebumps.
We should launch a 2nd Radio Paradise where The Knife - Heartbeats can be played without harshin' the mellow of this place. I think it'd be awesome.

Agree! I only found RP the other day (through a listener's comment on youtube) and sooooooo pleased I did!

+1

While I like this version as well, the original is still better. Not to mention that they simply have a different feel to them, reflecting the different styles of the performers.

That was the first time I heard it too. A good song in it's own right, but when I hear it, all I can think of are little rubber bouncy balls bouncing their way down a street in San Francisco.
Wonderful cover of The Knife. I heard this track on a café a few years back and just dropped all focus on table discussions and froze in astonishment.
It's a snowy February here in Ohio, but whenever I hear this song, I'm transported back to happy, quiet summer nights in western Oregon. This is just a fantastic tune.
Yes! I just looked this one up to see when it might be played next. It really sums up my mood riding home from my trip last weekend. Perfect timing, thank you!
need to get this one
radio paradise i love you and the velvety sounding dj's

Pleasant. That's all. Pleasant.
This sound translated into sensation: a warm breeze on bare skin

especially through tent mosquito netting, supine, full belly, evening light

couldn't love this song more

This song or should I say this version of this song always makes me feel good.
Everyone in my trailer park thinks this is probably the best cover they have ever heard.
Wonderful song.
So Pretty. Love the Guitar.
Excellent.

I keep thinking this is Nick Drake when the song first starts, and that's definitely a good thing.

Also, this cover is much MUCH better than the original, although it has its own charm.  I just don't much care for her voice.

I finally heard the original in the car last week.  The whole time I was trying to figure out which familiar song I was listening to.  At first I thought it was a very bad cover of a song I love.  I soon realized it was the original of a song I love.   What a difference between the two!  I am incurably biased towards Jose's cover now.   Score one for Bill.

Jeez, I've liked everything I've heard from this guy on RP. Why haven't I bought something from him yet? I gotta fix that...

I saw him live at the Perth International Arts Festival earlier this year and it still sends a shiver up my spine when I think of it.
The crowd stood there in awe for the whole performance - nobody wanted to breath, blink or move in case they missed a single note of it.  It sounded sooooooooo good.

Great song

Great photographs too.

Good song, but a bit overplayed for those of us who listen to paradise 8 hrs. a day. see ya.

I gave this a 10, which means I will probably hate the original if I ever hear it.  I complain about covers a lot, but in cases like this when I don't know the original, it works for me.
Crosby, Stills, Nash and González...?

PS
Super album-design! Bauhaus after the Nazis...?

Beautifful... another fine moment of music on RP. Thank you Bill :)
Fever Ray, and now Jose... guess it's Swedish-artist-time

Edit: just remembered that this is originally a Knife song, so the connection is pretty straightforward

This is such a lovely song.

And I always think of this Sony Bravia commercial - all practical balls, no CGI!

if not mentioned:

the music is a version. the composers are the band The Knife. much deeper

Hypnotic...........
I love this song so much and it was a Perfect Fit for the bravia commercial.

The Knife did it originally.  It's so interesting to hear a female vocalist sing the lead, but Jose's version is still my favorite.

I concede this is a nice mellow tune. It could be easily followed by a Modest Mouse tune:I gotta see, gotta know right now...

I love this song, I love the original... but... it is starting to become another "ambient chill" cliche
I've never heard this before? But I'm getting it now. Excellent version.
This is my number one song for 2006 hands down!
Usually I hate covers, but this one is pretty good.

This song is simply fucking beautiful. Absolutely serene. And it couldn't have been more perfect for the Sony Bravia balls video.
There's a new ad from the bouncy-ball people. :) (click here)
