Yes!  This track is reminiscent of Jim Carroll.  Especially the vocal delivery. 

Saw him in Rochester, NY. Stood right in front of the stage. Couldn't hear right for several days afterward.

Well, that's what I think too, but if you look at the ratings, we are way in the minority. So they obviously have something that we don't hear. Surely worth the wait (on mute) to hear what Bill/Rebecca will play next on this wonderful station.

I still remember seeing The Pixies for the first time on David Sanborn's "Night Music" broadcast out of NYC late on Sunday nights. I was up, denying the need for sleep, a Sunday in early 1990. It - the band, and the show - was ELECTRIFYING. The hair stood up on the back of my neck. Black Francis made me a believer that night. I first heard this song on RP.  "What a great Lou Reeds song," I thought.

I've since made up for this gap in my rock education by buying The Pixie's CDs.  Thanks, Bill!

This is one song I can listen to, back-to-back, over and over again . . . It must scratch somewhere deep I itch.

Funny, since this was the first album of theirs I ever owned (and was probably the big single off the album) it doesn't seem lesser known to me (but then, I was late to the game as I often am).  Totally agree on it being cool.  I guess I'd consider "Cactus" a lesser known song (plus one of my favorites). Such a perverted little tune.
