Lyrics:

All the banners stop waving
And the flags stop flying
And the silence comes over
Thousands of soldiers
Thousands of soldiers

Who is that girl? Do I know her face?
Who is that girl?

Joanni, Joanni wears a golden cross
And she looks so beautiful in her armour
Joanni, Joanni blows a kiss to God
And she never wears a ring on her finger

All the cannon are firing
And the swords are clashing
And the horses are charging
And the flags are flying
And the battle is raging
And the bells, the bells are ringing

Who is that girl? Do I know her face?
Who is that girl?

Joanni, Joanni wears a golden cross
And she looks so beautiful in her armor
Joanni, Joanni blows a kiss to God
And she never wears a ring on her finger
Joanni, Joanni, Joanni, Joanni blows a kiss to God
And she just looks beautiful in her armor
Beautiful in her armor
love it
I think I'm probably the only 14 year old in north america who likes her music. If i ask anyone even adults if they know who she is i get a no. Sad isn't it.
This is a great CD, and this song Joanni, is beautiful. The song is about Joan of Arc, I love that line "Joanni Joanni was a kiss to God", well done Kate!!!!
Nothing more to say.

I realize that there are those that love KB but she is getting waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much air time here.
Just can't get into her "style" of singing. I get restless and want to hear someone else. Leaves me blaaah
Definitions for aerial: 1. Of, in, or caused by the air. 2. Existing or living in the air. 3. Reaching high into the air; lofty. 4. Suggestive of air, as in lightness; airy. 5. Unsubstantial; imaginary. I suppose if asked which comes closest to the meaning of this CD's title, Kate (and her fans) would probably choose number 3 or 4. However, for me, number 5 is closer to the mark. She seems to overdo every song she sings, trying to give it meaning and weight, but ending up producing nothing of substance.
I used to think Neil Young was the worst singer on the planet. Now I know there's a chance someone could be even worse: If Neil Young and Kate Bush had a child, THAT would be the worst singer on the planet.
I realize that there are those that love KB but she is getting waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much air time here.

I thought it was Grover from Sesame Street!

Well put.

Yes! What's up with that? I liked a lot better before that stuff started -- costs the tune at least 2 rating points...
God... this is as pompous as the worst from Oasis or NIN. Come on, this is the one of the WORST Kate has ever recorded.

Right back up there with Hounds!
wtf?
I agree with the comment below: "Great CD". Kate has produced a beautiful work of art. Glad she's back.
what can I say ... it's Kate Bush all the way. It may not be -- OK, isn't -- a masterpiece, but for those of us who are Kate fans from way back, we welcome her reappearance and new CD.

yup...the album takes some work to get into, but I think it's worth the effort. Still I give this a 6--not my favorite song from the album.
