Not saying the guy doesn't have talent. He obviously does ... or at leat did. But I think he's the George Lucas of the music industry. Nobody's got the guts to challenge McCartney anymore, and so he's been riding easy for the better part of 30 years, and it shows in his art. Which has been nothing short of BLAND for oh-so-long. Good art comes from being challenged. Oh, and it doesn't help that McCartney -- like Lucas -- has turned from an amiable guy to an arsehole, ego ever-expanding, his views on artistic expression turning ever more selfish and fascist.

The song started and I was waiting for it to build into something. The theme reminded me of Eleanor Rigby. Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for it to build into something.

Hey, Halloween's coming. Maybe Lennon's Ghost will pay Paul a visit and whip his sorry songwritting ass into shape. This is beyond lame-o for someone who was once a great songwriter!

Perhaps if he didn't play all the instruments, he might be able to focus on one and make it sound half-decent.
