Within myself
There are a million things
Spilling over
Falling out into a silent stream
Feel the warm wind touch me
Hear the waters crashing
See my windows wiping clean
It's my recurring dream

Within myself
A secret world returns
Over and over
Where the white flame of desire burns

Feel the warm wind touch me
Hear the waters crashing
See my windows wiping clean
It's my recurring dream

Within myself
There are a million things

Feel the warm wind touch me
Hear the waters crashing
See my windows wiping clean
It's my recurring dream

Love the driving upbeat feel of the guitars.

I remember buying this album and feeling a little flat.  I recall only playing it through a couple of times before it slid quietly into the rack...
I like the guitar work, but feel let down by the melody line..  Dunno, it just feels like he stopped trying.
Thank you, RP, for playing so much Crowded House, Neil Finn, Tim Finn, and The Finn Brothers!! <3
  Dancing at my desk!!
Hum, no comment since 8 years, ok let's say something, hum.... good song
Love this song. I'm surprized it's rated at only 6.5. People's taste in music is endlessly variable. Sometimes it's because of the associations.
For me, this conjours up memories of Michelle Pfeiffer in Tequila Sunrise blasting down the California coast in an Alfa Romeo Spider . Beautiful woman, cool car, fun movie, great tune.

Excellent but not their best work.

haaaa - smiling!
One of the best STUDIO (!!!) bands around...
but this does not confirm that!

Bill and Swine-flue?

5,6,7 terrible songs in a row now!

RIP Paul Hester

Wow... this song sucks

I love everything going on in this song: the guitars, drums, vocals, lyrics. Beautiful.

This must be pretty weak, because it passed by and it didn't even draw my attention, I can't even remember how it sounded. That's disappointing for a Crowded House track.

Nup. Flippin' awesome is the correct description!
Kinda sounds like The Replacements to me.

definitely they are!
Ah, ha. Great road trip song. The original version from the Ricky & Pete soundtrack is better, though.

Cool! Didn't they play this song over the closing credits for "Short Circuit 2"? Or was it "Over the Top"? Heady days!
It's from the Tequila Sunrise soundtrack. Great movie.

The guitars and their layering has a very "Big Country" sound to it. And then he starts singing it and it evolves into the Crowded House that I love. This one is new to me. And that's rare.
Crowded House are reforming. (click here) They gave a 2-1/2 hour webcast last night (Windows-only, Internet Explorer-only ) from Peter Gabriel's studio.
An example of differing tastes in music, I guess, based on previous posts. This has always been one of my favorite tunes from CH and, for me, is as close to a perfect pop song as any I've heard. Easy 9 or 10.

I am a big fan of the House, but this is uncharacteristically droning and monotonous for them. Not liking it.
bah i missed it cuz i was checkin out the weepies online.

Huh. I didn't even know this song existed. It's certainly not on the CH best-of album, which is called . . . Recurring Dream.

The Finns are capable of so much better than this tedium. It gets a 3 from me.
Sadly, I have to agree although I couldn't bring myself to be quite as harsh on the rating.

Love you, Neil!
One of their weakest tracks. Ho-hum.
this is one of these songs that make me change radio station
Even Neil's b-side material is 100 times better than most of the dreck out these days! Always loved this track.....

I'm going to learn to play this song on my guitar if it kills me...which it very well may, I'm a terrible guitarist
I've attempted it before. It obviously makes use of a delay effect (which I fortunately have), but the few TAB's I've found online don't appear to be anything close to the same riff.
nice add to the playlist!
