When you say it's dead and gone
Yes, I know you're wrong
Cut and slash, sharpest knife
It won't die
Poison cup, drank it up
It won't die
No fire, no gun, no rope, no stone
It won't die

Why you gotta shove it in my face
As if you put me in my place
'Cause I don't care if you or me is wrong or right
Ain't gonna spend another night
In your bed
In your bed

Laws of man are just pretend
They ain't mine
Love so good, love so bad
It won't die
Some talk too long, they know it all
I just smile and move on

Words ain't free, like you and me
I don't mind

Why'd you have to be so mean and cruel?
The dogs are loose, I'm on to you
You ball and chained together from the dawn to dusk
Can't call it leavin', cause it's just
I never came
I never came
I never came
I never came
I never came
I never came

this is one of their prettier songs.
When William plays so many of my favs in a row I tend to up their ratings.“The Whole Is Greater Than The Sum Of Its Parts”,  Aristotle 350 BC

See. That's what I love about Radio Paradise. It's not every music channel where the fans will throw around words like "spurious".  Radio Paradise, where literate fans listen.  And yes, That award should be given.
Hearing this for the first time I thought of Joan Osbourne
love the percussion in this... ticking clock kinda thing going on in here.
Omg like a message from the past …from that one lover…
I've always loved Josh Homme's voice. Love that falsetto. He's always reminded me a bit of Jack Bruce.

Musically, he can do no wrong.
Interesting tid bit...Josh Homme and Anthony Bourdain were good friends...and the Queens are likely the only cool thing to ever have been connected to Palm Desert...besides your humble author, of course...

a much different sonic texture than their usual.  I like it

"I never came"--story of my life...
Really no way to avoid bestowing a "10"
That guitar line gets me every time.

Must. Resist. The. Urge.....

THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!!!!

Sorry.
The chord changes are remarkable..
 Silvervanman wrote:

The "clicking" is snare rim shots

Not a rim shot (hitting the head of the drum and the rim simultaneously) but hitting just the rim. The drummer is using the rim as a cymbal. It's a little unusual, but it's an option. I think it works here.
The clicking is what makes it.   Incessant, like a time, ever onward.
 Edweirdo wrote:
That reletenless clicking (is it percussion or a badly-tuned drum) means a solid 2 and PSD.

The clicking is caused by excellent rhythm and talented musicianship

It just does not click for me.

Well, next song was from Radiohead (Lucky),,why?

I am not a fan of RH, and was listening on SONOS, out of sync, and reading the details for the next track (Lucky, Radiohead), and failed to twig that this wasn't it. Then Lucky came on and I decided I liked it better. Not sure where that leaves me! The followup Strange Days definitely perked me up.

Wow! This what Radio Paradise is worth! Thank you for "youngsters" like me, born after 1970 to discover these treasures. I have a long list from RP.

Released in 2005 though the band does have a 'vintage' classic rock sound; maybe that's what they call "stoner rock?" - and I really like this one too....I love the drums from the first note and usually crank the volume up a bit....LLRP!!

Both songs are in E minor, the chord progressions, melodies, and tempos are different.  Incidentally, Split Enz were from New Zealand.
I've always like this song/QOTSA, but they seem to get better with each listen.
as a long time stil inside the my playlist
I'd never listened to QotSA until hearing them here. A band I had just ass/u/me-d from the name would be some kind of shred'n'scream metal band. Nice surprise.

Not even close !
Your need to "identify/ label " by one song, has totally mislead you  :<
Kind of a poor man's Radio Head to me. But still likeable.
re Split Enz being an australian band. WRONG. They are a New Zealand band and Neil Finn and at least one other from crowded house are kiwi's.  For some reason anything good that come out of NZ is always claimed by aussies. We can only figure that they are short of artists of their own
David Lowrey is a close neighbor to Borrego Springs, home of radio Paradise ! ! !   They have a campout every year out that way.

The "guitar solo" in the middle is almost note for note identical to that in Queensryche's Scarborough Fair (not the acoustic version) except it is in a different key.  That gives me an idea for requesting the latter on RP - how about it Bill and Rebecca?
The intro sounded to me like an early Steeleye Span track!

Fabulous set the last few minutes! I just tuned in and it's blowing me away. Who needs drugs with music this good?

Keep The Streets Empty For Me - Fever Ray
Band of Skulls Wanderluster - Sweet Sour
Band of Horses The Funeral - Everything All The Time
Beck Waking Light - Morning Phase
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Sins of My Youth - Hypnotic Eye
Greg Laswell My Fight (For You) - Take a Bow

Trying hard not to gush right now... One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands ! (hard to limit myself to only one exclamation mark too)

The only thing wrong with this song is that I only caught the last 30 seconds after the PSD song finished playing (Wilco came around...)

The Tantra song!
RAD!!

Tomorrow is hump day, however.

RP just played Honkey Tonk Women... the drums to this song are very similar... coincidence? i think not.

love the rhythm in this song - are those drumsticks that he's tapping throughout the song?
i just listen to RP for the next song
Saw the lead singer (Josh Homme?) on Anthony Bourdain No Reservation last night. Seems like a pretty cool guy.

Melodically, I don't hear that, but the singer does go into that "strained yodeling" technique that Jack Bruce often indulged in.  Quite a likable tune, by the way.
