Interesting references to Heat Wave and Do You Believe in Magic? John Sebastion said that he really liked the rising chord structure in Heat Wave and played around with it, eventually speeding it up - Do You Believe in Magic was the result.

There's a The The song out there (maybe "This is the Day"), that uses this same 3 chord piano progression. That's what I thought it was. I still like it though. Its bouncy.

Why not just completely rip "Heatwave" off? Is this the latest "new" band to do watered down tributes songs that didn't need covering to begin with? (See Franz Ferdinand and Interpol pretending to be Joy Division, etc. ) Is this a British thing? Surely there are some artists out there that can offer us something new???
