There's no angels here
Just a sun to light the way
To places where my friends
Turn to strangers

Oh my lover on a long long empty road
Oh sweet lover I got lost

There's no angels here
Just a light to lead the way
There's no innocence
Only stangers

Oh my lover on a long long empty road
Oh sweet lover I got lost

And I
I need to get back home

Oh my lover on a long long empty road
Oh sweet lover I got lost

And I
I need to get back home

Love it...

Sublime with subtle intensity, I love VAST...
U2 like....
I don't know.

I prefer the band "Small" on their album "Clothed",  doing the song "Found".

I agree.  That was just a lazy throwaway comment.  Raise the bar, people.
What's Jon Crosby doing these days? Haven't heard anything in ages.
Hmmmmm....

This captured me from the first note; then the lyrics took over; then I thought it was Bono; great song!
Is that Bonio on vocals?
Sounds good.

Thank you very much, RP, for introducing me to this some time ago. I brought it with me in the middle of Africa. And boy, did I feel lost. But somehow, it didn't feel that bad.

Wow. Did I really write this?
But somehow, it was true.
Jon Crosby is such a phenomenal artist -- all of his songs sound such high-quality, I'm surprised he isn't more well-known...but maybe good for us?
..this song makes me want to get nekkid-!..or maybe it's just the disc title..whatevuh!..8! at the outset..
Enough of this Bono crap....listen to more of Vast and you'll hear Mr Jim Morrison.
That's a good thing to me.
Vast. Lost. Nude. What's not to love about that?!

Is it still nap-time?

I'm with Fred on this one: any audible similarity you may find between VAST and U2 must be solidly located between your ears because I can't find it between mine. . .

I know VAST since the very fist album (amazing!) and never thought I would listen on a radio ever.

If I'm not wrong, VAST is a single man band, called Jon Crosby. He is a genious. All my admiration to his sensibility to write a compose songs.

VAST stands for Visual Audio Sensory Theatre.

My recomendations: "Touched" and "Pretty When You Cry", from the first album "V.A.S.T." (1998)

Once again, congratulations to Radio Paradise for broadcast so amazing music.

We must have very different  hearing perception, then, because I can't hear any similarity between Vast and St Bonio's MOR has-beens. VAST are a big sound using a range of instruments and sounds, not driven along by some guy whacking a guitar as hard as he can. VAST do have a strong religious influence, evident on the album of theirs that I've got, although whether they're religious or using religious imagery as a metaphor I don't know. In that sense they remind me a lot of Depeche Mode.

I think that this is the sound U2 has been trying to go for for their past couple of albums.

My thoughts exactly!

Good music!!!
Nice!!

U22?
Outstanding!
I do like Vast, but I don't think this is one of their better numbers. The background plainsong is out of place, IMO, and the whole sound is a bit too U2. Nice enough, but they can and do do much better. 5 from the Nottingham jury.

i have a hard time understanding how coldplay and U2 are mega hits, and this guy Jon Crosby gets almost no air play on the radio. Thanks RadioParadise for playing more than top 40 and giving talented artists at least one channel to be heard.

Thank you RP for introducing me to Vast, this has become on of my favorite CD's. I only wish that is came in surround sound.

Ok, cutting against the grain i guess, but i really like the song. Vocals are compelling, has a lot of Bono, agreed, but the most interesting stuff goes unsaid. Nice landscapes painted (and i don't necessarily mean the artwork but the music) and nice chorus too...

Me neither. I guess some people clutch at every possible opportunity to express their hatred for U2.

This sounds like a a band I heard in a bowling alley lounge....
Er, this guy doesn't sound like Bono.

I think I don't have to explain why I think this sucks. I don't like this at all.

After falling in love with "Music for People", I was pretty disappointed with this album overall. The melodies just do not catch my ear like so many of the songs on MfP did.
The voice reminds me a bit of Grant Lee Phillips.
Interesting, soothing, quite likeable..

The intro sounds like enigma - myth or enigma - rain forest The vocal sounds like Pete Yorn + Bono

Yeah, and he's one of about twenty singers now that sound like Bono. We should start a forum dedicated to that topic alone!

In many songs he does, I never thought so on this one though.
