Very well stated!   EXCELLENT TUNE!!   Thanx RP!
Ohhhh yessss! Love me some Thievery in the morning. Great memories, but can it really be from 22 years ago? 🥹

Color of life, color of joy
Where are your tears, all your words?
And since you're tired of seeing
All the people suffer
This too simple and naive notion
Succeeding in defeating a law
Invisible law, so unfair
So unfair, so dark

Live your life, it's so beautiful
Live your life, it's yours
Live your life, without a lie
Live your life, as you want

Color of life, color of joy
Where is this philosophical fire
Your condensed, pulverized mind
Subtitled by all your tears

Live your life, it's so beautiful
Live your life, it's yours
Live your life, without a lie
Live your life, as you want

Live your life, it's so beautiful
Live your life, it's yours
Live your life, without a lie
Live your life, however you want I only know one thing; you hold
My joy, my pain, in your hands

You are the breath, the link,
My child king, my magician

[Chorus] :
Nothing belongs to me
But to the south I'm coming back

Drowned in the hearts of crowds
It is in your river that I flow

When all the golden bridges crumble
It's your air that I get drunk

[Chorus]

Unknown territories
I walk through them, I include them

My country, my blood, my street
Are in your eyes, I saw them

Thank You for the translation!
EXCELLENT! Thanx RP!

I saw them in Amsterdam in July - unreal! One of the most exciting live concerts I've ever been to. Very talented musicians, and great performers.

LouLou Ooldouz Ghelichkhani was born in San Jose California. She was raised in Paris, France till her teenage years then moved to Bethesda, Maryland

Most corporations are guilty of some degree of thievery.
At least this one produces some cool tunes.  ; )

She certainly doesn't sound French. She should stick to English,  just like Manu Chao shouldn't sing in English.
Could very well fit on one of these Cafe del Mar compilations...
Just saw them again last week in Chicago - awesome live and included a surprise extended opening set by Poi Dog Pondering! Frank O. plays percussion for TC

Profoundly superficial? That's a wee bit of an oxymoron...

TF often use this same French singer ( anybody know her name?) in their works, and as it's her native language I'd not have thought that the French lyrics were thrown in so as to add je ne sais quoi to the songs. I expect that she wrote them herself.. TF also use singers in other languages, and are very internationalist in their outlook, which fits in with their radical politics. This isn't one of their best songs - the reverb irritates a bit - but they're never less than interesting and eclectic. Which is why they find themselves played frequently on RP, I guess...

For me:  screaming down a double-black ski run with no one in sight, just enough light to see the bumps, and this blasting in the earbuds.
French woman singing is wonderful in the first place.  Dreamy song is almost as wonderful in the second.
just keep this number going and going

I would have been disappointed if this band wasn't playing after the last one

YEah, I remember when I first used Garageband.

I feel the same way about the whole genre of Cumbia.  But that's because I'm completely ignorant to it and have absolutely no interest in it.

The echo-sitar is the best part. 9 thumbs up here.
Typically of TC, smooth sound, political lyrics:

loungelicious
The bass line has the feel of a watered down "black magic woman", very sensual.
This whole album is amazing.
'A genre busting amalgam.'
pretentious?....moi?!
no really..no dud tracks. how rare is that!!

I would suggest both "Richest Man in Babylon" and "The Cosmic Game".  Both are exceptional.  Cosmic game has several guest musicians including Wayne Coyne, Perry Ferrell, and RPs favorite whipping boy David Byrne.  Down-tempo world grooves that only TC can create.  Enjoy!

See this band live. They stole the show at Lollapalloza last year in Chicago. The laid-back character of their studio stuff became this primal rhythmic party that had 1,500 people bouncing into the night!

I sure wish they would come and take it home. It's lost and confused. It wandered into a song by mistake.
TC are fast becomin' one of my fav bands so beguilin' ... ?

Tricky, used to be part of Massive Attack. Maxiquaye - it's a stunning album, of find "Ruff Guide" - it's kind of a best-off.. album. Quantic and Bonobo also get my vote, though they're not strictly Trip-hop, if you like Corp et al., you'll like them. If you want really chilled trip-hop/hip-hop check out "Carboot Soul" or "Smoker's Delight" by Nightmares on Wax

Who knows? This is music from D.C. It's not supposed to make sense! But it sounds good, whatever the language.
Nice. The title should be "une", not "un".

Great Song Lets me practice my high school french. Which is apparently very rusty
very mellow
Thievery Corp is just one of a number of great artists associated with Eighteenth Street Lounge Music. Ursula 1000, Blue States, Thunderball, Arkestra One, Nicola Conte are all well worth checking out.

Hey great stuff! Glad to see you\'re playing more and more of these guys. I\'ve heard them in town here at a couple of clubs and they\'re getting better all the time. Thanx again Bill.
Hmmm... I like this. Always open for more techno/trip hop. Gave it a 7.
