Sweet relief calms me down
Makes me drown
Lost and found
Neighbours complain
Sheets are stained
Hotel shower
The best around

Spacing from Paris to New York
Silver sunglasses
Silver phone
Connect us to someone
Who doesn't know
About these feelings we can't control

People they want us to fall down
But we won't ever
Touch the ground
'Cause we're perfectly balanced
We'll float around
'Til noone is near
Do you hear this sound

Spacing from Paris to New York
Silver sunglasses
Silver phone
Connect us to someone
Who doesn't know
About these feelings we can't control

This strange feeling captures us
It generates this huge fuzz
I miss you all the time I must face
I miss your touch and your embrace

Wow, this album is 12 years old now — just stellar!  love it

Listening for the first time in 2023. Wow. Great piece. 25 years ago.

Lovely tune, though I've never been a fan of "breathy" vocals. Sometimes,it's a style that's usually way too over-used... No real soul or personal identity can properly be communicated through "breathy" vocals. I thought this was Charlotte Gainsbourg for a second, from her "5.55" album, which is, I admit, not that bad.... However, the fact that it COULD've been her, makes a strong case for more sparing use of the vocal style, I feel. Over an entire album, you just wish someone would suddenly kick the singer up the jacksie while she's laying down vocals, and make the decision to leave that particular take on the finished album! MAybe it's just me...

I know this comment is old as the hills, but how are you comparing this to a Charlotte Gainsbourg album that came out several years later and calling it tired for that reason? Its hardly their fault.

"Jacksie"
. Not a term heard much (if ever) in Canada. And while I can't agree with the kicking sentiment, I found myself hearing it in "Little Alex"s droogie voice - "How art thou, thou breathy bottle of cheap, soulless vocal stylings? Come and get one in the jacksie, if ya have any jacksie, you impersonal jelly thou!".
Nice trip {#Devil_pimp}
Eeeeew!
the beginning of this sounded like that nasty Dave Matthews song.
Yuck!

Apparently it's inside a structure called the Atomium in Brussels.  However, that info came from Wikipedia, which sometimes can be about as reliable as restroom graffiti.
  Fantastic song by the way.

DAMN! I was just at the Atomium two months ago, but I didn't go inside!!! I thought all the coolness was on the outside! I really need to put more time into researching my sight-seeing. . .

I wish Hooverphonic would come out with a new album. What a great sound they have.
Unique, excellent band..
I love this song, but everytime i hear it, i still think of the VW commercial.
The vocals on this track are killing me. I really like Hooverphonic, but this whispery, choked attempt at singing is too much. I know, it's fitting for the lyrics, but that doesn't mean I like it. Open your mouth and SING, girl!!!
It's not a kazoo, it's a shawm! (click here)
I liked it....!

You mean you thought it was good besides that?
I fell in love with this song ages past when it was featured in a Volkswagen ad. I love it as much now as I did then.

Please stop saying things I agree with. It's scaring me.

Yeah, I like the music a lot, but it needs better vocals--but not mine!
Don't hear much from Hooverphonic on RP anymore. Too bad... they're great.

These last four songs in this set have sucked! I thought this was Sophie Zelmani at first, still, this music upon my first rising of the day just makes me depressed!! Blecch!
"Hooverphonic" - wouldn't that mean "Sound That Sucks"?
Hooverphonic, mixed with Postal Service, Stars and Lamb is my work music of choice.

Now repeating the Hooverphonic - King Crimson combo... it's a very nice sound.
KIND OF A MELLOTRON THANG GOIN ON. that's good thing. oh, and now the next song is the KING of mellotrons, king crimson. you rock, bill.
Thanks, RP for playing this nice song.
Nice chill out album... :chillpill.gif: :meditate.gif:
