Honey, you are a rock
Upon which I stand
And I come here to talk
I hope you understand

The Green Eyes
Yeah, the spotlight shines upon you
And how could anybody deny you?

I came here with a load
And it feels so much lighter now I met you
And, Honey, you should know
That I could never go on without you
Green Eyes

Honey, you are the sea
Upon which I float
And I came here to talk
I think you should know

The Green Eyes
You're the one that I wanted to find
And anyone who tried to deny you
Must be out of their mind

Because I came here with a load
And it feels so much lighter since I met you
Honey, you should know
That I could never go on without you
Green Eyes
Green Eyes

Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh

Honey, you are a rock
Upon which I stand

one of my favorite coldplay tunes. the first song that grabbed me from this album when it first came out.
love it.
this is horrible
A great song from my least favourite CD of theirs.
This CD got me through a lousy divorce...which my ex liked too, oddly enough.  Why is nothing in life clean cut?
This song cracks me up because Queen Gwyneth hath forbade Chris Martin to sing this song live anymore because it is about an Ex! What a puss!{#Lol} This song is pretty good, back in those few years when they were actually musically relevant.

Many bad comments as usual for coldplay. But the rating tells another story!! Nice song BTW!

Gawd! Shutty already! {#Yell}
I'm pretty burned out on these guys, much as I am with U2.

Exactly.
I really love the sound of this song, the lyrics are so pure, the melody caught my attention right away.  I haven't heard anyone else do this song, but would like to hear other versions, just out of curiosity.  I think I'd like to do this song myself!

Made me laugh.

Yes heard it a lot, but not recently, still like it. 8.

In the interest of keeping the non-sequitors flowing I offer this.

Ripping on Coldplay is like kicking a retarded puppy.  Shame on you!

(And by the way, I gave this an "8".)
yuck.. i have to hear this crap everywhere else so why must i hear it on RP...

I like Coldplay for the most part, but this is one song that just gets on my nerves..

My song... I still long for the right person to play this one for me...

Mine are blue but I still love this song (and Coldplay)
I'd rather hear the Husker Du song "Green Eyes"
the only coldplay song i genuinely like

no, too many different notes for Mazzy STar. and he at least attempts to change octaves occasionally.

Brilliant! Chris Martin in the man.
Is he channeling Mazzy Star?
I think this is very sweet.  And that's worth something.  And it's not just because I have green eyes and love Chris Martin.{#Hearteyes}

No intention to be rude.  Somebody mentioned Kool-Aid and I thought I'd share my Kool-Aid joke.  I haven't met anybody yet that didn't think it was funny.

Most overrated band in my eyes. Boring music.... The singer definitely needs a wakeup-call.
This ColdPlay song sounded as if it was lifted from Mazzy Star.
This album is great. IMHO the best of Coldplay. Parachutes has the greatest Coldplay song: Yellow. But the whole album is not a complete piece of art. The X&Y album seems to be a bit pretentious

Whether I agree or not, this is a fantastic line.
Heh. I agree, that is a good one. I cant tell eye colors apart sometimes in the blue/green spectrum, they have to be very rich in one direction or the other. And if the person is an actress that's appeared on magazine covers that, I swear, adjust their eye color to match the masthead of the magazine, I am all the more lost. That's just me.
Sounds like Billy Bragg!

Hey I don't blame HER either. He's quite cute (but I still find Coldplay dull dull dull)

I think Bill and I may have been on the same wavelength when this tune was followed once by Johnny Cash. I'd love to have heard it among Cash's repertoire of 'modern' covers; it's a solid country song in the least.
I saw these guys in a tent in a very soggy field a while before they were famous. Wasnt keen then either.

She shore can't act though that academy award was pure farce!
Great tune...simple production - a plus.

You know, I agree, nothing innovative or progressive, just an acoustic jam and whatnot, but I like this song as well. I might be partial to it because I have green eyes. But a girl can't be blamed for being sentimental on occasion.

What a great song. Reminds me of every green-eyed girl I've been with...good memories.

That would be true only if the absence of taste could be concidered to be taste.

Not really.
The Thomas Kinkade of modern music. Cold Play is at once everywhere... and nowhere, at the same time.
Will gladly send my copy of this CD to anyone in the world if they pick up the tab for postage. I need the shelf space for music I actually listen to. Bought this a couple of years ago because of the buzz, then actually listened to it...once. Extremely overrated band, IMO.

This album has really lasted the test of time for me. Truly a great work Too bad X&Y was such a disappointment.
Although I love AROBTTH, I think X&Y is a much more clever album. Shows an amazing musical progress. Man, that Square One intro blows my mind! and oh boy that Kraftwerk reference in Talk really impressed me.

This song is one of many great ones off an outstanding CD.

I'd say you taste pretty bad, but that's just a guess considering your distance. Coldplay are the cure to complexity. Sometimes this is a good thing.

This is one of the "great" CDs. Every song a solid 7 or better.
Better than your average Coldplay. Nice.
I love this song.

i simply love this song.. like the aforementioned Neil Young, it makes me tap my feet automatically.... and while driving the car i can't help to sing along when they go full force: 'Green eyes, you're the one that I wanted to fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiind And anyone who tried to deny you, must be out of their miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiind'. Touche. You know what though, Bill has mentioned that he tends to play a lot of cuts off new albums, so I'm thinking the run of Coldplay songs we have heard off this album is the result of that. When their new album comes out I suspect we'll be hearing quite a few cuts off that album as well.
Its a damn good album. You won't hear me complaining. This is just a simple love song. It manages to be sincere, but not sappy. I love it.

The point i was making was that playlisting practically the entire coldplay album is well, a little biased so to you too :p

Fits perfectly on the album! (nice Neil Young, but also The Sound)

I agree and it is very simple the words carry the tune and not the music. My favourite song by far.

There's a little bit for everyone here. But, I believe in freedom too, so if you don't like it, change the channel.

Yes, I suppose the 4500+ songs Bill has in his library is rather limited.

Is Colplay capable of creating bad music? They are amazing - truly fresh sounds yet amid strains that always seem vaguely familiar. Hope Gwenyth doesn\'t screw them up...

I love Coldplay! I never really thought much about them until I saw their Grammy performance on TV. Then I started hearing this album on radioparadise. They have a song for every mood. Please keep playing them!
It's amazing that a commercially successful band can put out such strong material. If they can put out great music, and make money, more power to them.
I bought this album on the strength of Clocks, but to be honest I\'ve not been impressed. This song is *okay* -- I don\'t see how anyone can call it great, though.
Like this one a lot. It reminds me of my wife, who has green eyes.
I really like this song...and I have green eyes! :)

sort of agree, the first album with yellow, made me sour, but this album is so much stronger to me. except for the fact that he is dating gwyneth now, that hurts, and not in a good way.
Love this album, in my top five of the year, and this song is one of the better ones of the album.
I\'m thankful for such simple, pretty, and modestly performed tunes.. This is the first coldplay tune i\'ve heard and I hope the rest of it is like this.. A great singalong.
I do hear Coldplay here allot. But at least it is not the same song over and over as with CCC stations. Coldplay great though. Maybe just not so often that we get worn out on them.
Yo, Bill: You\'re seriously overplaying Coldplay IMO.
Campfire songs will never die! Love it Nice sixties vibe.
i like it. and i like green eyes, too. :D
