One more on that Q compilation; Talk Talk - Inheritance. RP has just played another TT and it reminded me of that one ... great song, and about half of that TT album (Spitit of Eden) is genius, the other half aimless doodling, unfortunately ...

Q magazine did a Chill Out compilation a few years back, to, this day, is the best one I've come across, IMHO. Here goes: Moby - Novio Groove Armada - At the River Kinobe - Slip into Something Fairport Convention - Who Know Where the Time Goes? John Martyn - Solid Air Underworld - Push Upstairs Moloko - Sing It Back Oasis - Half the World Away Nick Drake - River Man Grandaddy - Underneath the Weeping Willow Garbage - Milk Goldfrapp - Utopia Depeche Mode - Useless (K&D mix) David Bowie - Art Decade Mercury Rev - Holes Brilliant, especially the contrast between Underworld, Moloko, Goldfrapp etc. with Fairport, Nick Drake and John Martyn. And of course, to prove a not-too-subtle point, it showed how ridiculously ahead of their time Bowie and Eno were with 'Low' and 'Heroes'

Familiar yet somehow oblique...and distant...it has a wistfulness that permeates every note. This song makes me long for places that I've never been, and may not exist. Top-5 chillout song ever.

This is one oddball tune. My ratings would span a range of five depnding on where I was in the song. I have no idea where it nets out. I do like the trombone solo though.
