Come sail your ships around me
And burn your bridges down
We make a little history, baby
Every time you come around

Come loose your dogs upon me
And let your hair hang down
You are a little mystery to me
Every time you come around

We talk about it all night long
We define our moral ground
But when I crawl into your arms
Everything comes tumbling down

Come sail your ships around me
And burn your bridges down
We make a little history, baby
Every time you come around

Your face has fallen sad now
For you know the time is nigh
When I must remove your wings
And you, you must try to fly

Come sail your ships around me
And burn your bridges down
We make a little history, baby
Every time you come around

Come loose your dogs upon me
And let your hair hang down
You are a little mystery to me
Every time you come around

A classic, but I think I prefer the live version, given the choice (from Live Seeds).

Okay, my turn to be the one to say, "I don't get it" about a song played here. I've never been able to take Nick Cave's voice, and this has to be the worst-sounding example I've heard yet. And that album cover with the kids is totally creeping me out. If the lyrics are great, I'll never be able to get that far. But keep playing it! Play it all! That's the beauty of RP!

Hey you don't have to hang on every song!

Wow, that was awesome!
Is it just me, or does Nick Cave sound like he's about 5 or 6 drinks in at Karaoke Night at the local pub?
just had to make this a 10 up there with into your arms.
This is one of my all time favourite songs.  However, to me , this was when Nick Cave was at the top of his talent, not long after went on to sell himself into what he is today  ->  overbaked and overhyped.
"And bring your breakfast down"

"Let your hen come down"

One of my favourites by Nick. The release date given here is wrong, though, it should be 1990.

Ah Ha!

my detective work paid off.  A fan wrote 11 months ago this song followed Roger Waters's song, just like today. Does this mean we are on a long loop, or several loops? My only disappointment with RP nowadays is not mixing in enough novel programming. Still the best radio station on the planet, though.
What a segue from Roger Water's "Wait For Her"!

I've never heard this track before, Nick's voice is particularly hard to take but oh man the lyrics

Webs seamlessly with the just played Roger Waters’ Wait for her. Bravo.

14 years.   {#Cry}
11 years and still not played.  :(
Never played is a very long time.
Hey, how come this gem of a song has never been played...? <-X
I just heard this on an episode of The Secret Life of Us (a now defunct Australian soap opera which has sporadic rotation on US cable). It was amazing. Of course I wondered if I had heard it here before. Apparently not...but yes, we should! Please. 8)

I second that! One of the finest love songs ever written. It almost brings tears to my eyes when I hear it. Nick Cave wrote:
