Not necessarily.  My ex girlfriend was Scottish and she HATED bagpipes!  This IS a GREAT TUNE!   Thanx RP!

Loreena's music is to Celtic/Medieval music as historical fiction is to history.  Her music is not so much "authentic history" as it is evocative of an exotic or far-off place and time.  The story told here in "Skellig"  is an "appropriately authentic" deathbed event between friends that is set in that time and place.

Some like historical fiction -- some don't.  Some like Loreena's music -- some don't.

Can't you just let the song stand on its own, not try to label it. I for one like it, you don't, c'est la vie.🐨

That's why your maker gave you fingers that fit various orifices.

Simply wonderful!

Here, have this leprechaun fridge magnet.

One wonders if Bono would find it necessary to mock any American that actually likes this... as he owns exclusive rights to anything  Irish
she was at my friend's wedding. pre-fame - a teenager, in fact.  good old Manitoba. she looked like a Celtic princess ..........
ahhhhhhhhhh! Loreena is always SO nice to hear!

Intelligent? What makes music intelligent? Let's not get snobish people. I find this highly repetitive - there's nothing wrong with that - for me it just means I have to be in that mood - and to be honest I'm rarely in the mood for this song.

When exactly was the last time a top-40 station played AC/DC: 84, 85 or 86? Inquiring minds wanna know. Kevin
She is one of the greatest performers/singers of all time. No doubt about it. I adore her as a musician for she is so talented and sensitive...
I really do not like this dirge. Beautiful, doubtful Timeless, Yes, forgets when to stop! It must go onto my list of "Switch off" when it's played!!
My ears are bleeding, make it stop!
I really can\'t understand why this song get\'s played so much. Yuck! It makes me turn off radioparadise. I\'ll be back later. Chip
I don\'t mind her stuff for a couple of minutes but then the repetition gets to me. Sounds like a poor mans Clannad at best, even they would have used this theme as a starting point not for the structure of the whole song. :(
it IS beautiful and timeless.
This the second song that I\'ve heard by Loreena McKennitt on this station. So far this one is as melodramic and overwrought (and, IMHO, silly) as the first one. I recognize that others dig this stuff, but my vote is for never playing her again. In fact, I\'m going to go listen to something else and come back later.
Put me out of my misery. Just shoot me. I agree with ... below: for Irish, let's go with Waterboys, World Party, Solas, corrs, the chieftains albums with Van or Elvis.....but life is too short for this song!
I have been listening to RP for over a month. I greatly enjoy the mix of music. I listen while working and it is a pleasure. Intelligent —yes Lyrical —yes White bread—yes My first choice for music —yes
A little of her goes a long way. And I LOVE Celtic music. Maybe some Solas to fill the Celtic/Rock vacumm?!
I find that I have to be in just the right mood to listen to this one, otherwise it becomes a little annoying. If I'm in the right frame of mind, it's simply beautiful. Today I'll go with beautiful.
