Off Our Rockers, Actin' Crazy
With the Right Medication We Won't Be Lazy
Doin' the Old Folks Boogie
Down On the Farm
Wheelchairs, They Was Locked Arm in Arm
Paired Off Pacemakers With Matchin' Alarms
Gives Us Jus' One More Chance
To Spin One More Yarn

And You Know That You're Over the Hill
When Your Mind Makes a Promise That Your Body Can't Fill
Doin' the Old Folks Boogie
And Boogie We Will
'cause to Us the Thought's As Good As a Thrill

Back At the Home,
No Time Is Your Own,
Facillities There, They're All Out On Loan
The Bank Forclose, and Your Bankruptcy Shows
And Your Credit Creeps to An All-time Low
So You Know, That You're Over the Hill
When Your Mind Makes a Promise That Your Body Can't Fill

Try and Get a Rise From An Atrophied Muscle,
And the Nerves in Your Thigh Just Quivers and Fizzles
So You Know, That You're Over the Hill
When Your Mind Makes a Promise That Your Body Can't Fill

Ouch - remember laughing at the lyrics when they came out.
Now -- it's looking too close to true to do anything but keep dancing!
God help me.
This wasn't so "relevant" then....

Whoops- it is now!   Time Loves a Hero!  and hurts him, too.
Great sound! I bet the guys of Vulfpeck love this too!
7 rating?
C'mon folks, a solid 10 for anything from the Feat....
And Happy Christmas to y'all.

Not sure about the "best" overall.   Best in their own uniqueness yes.
Anything Feat is a 9-10

ands we likes it.
Young@Heart needs to do a cover of this...
Whoa thats funky !
Great band! I prefer the "Waiting for Columbus" version, but a funny tune nonetheless.
Good old Little Feat{#Bananapiano}
Lowell George was the real deal
Lowell is sorely missed.

Why did this seem funnier in 1977 than it does in 2014?

The longer I live, the more I enjoy what life brings.  Yes, getting old is not pretty, but with a sense of humor and a wide-angle perspective, getting old is funny as hell.

I liked it back when it came out and I was graduating from High School.  Hitting a little too close to home now.{#Sad}

The older I get the more I love Little Feat and I don t know how that s possible! I got them old folks feat now. This song has so much of the New Orleans groove you would almost think it was their home.

I like Little Feat better every year!

I too thought this was pretty funny in the 70's, and 80's....90's, hum, I guess I've lived long enough for that change of perspective.  :o)
May you live long enough to change your perspective, Grasshopper.

Holy crap. Last time I heard this song - it was not really relevant to me. Now it (kind of) is...Yikes!
One of my favourites....
Yuck.
If I never heard this band again?  Not a peep from me.  000

Which room are you in? I'm on the 13th floor, and I can't hear your music playing. Crank it up a bit, will you?
I'm sending you over one of my very special mushroom souffles.  {#Cowboy}
Good to see that these guys are still out there - apparently with the right medication https://e2.ma/message/zv35f/nmg08e

Having just turned 60, I will now demand that we play this song at my birthday instead of Happy Birthday...when your mind makes a promise your body can't fill...yes indeed!
Wow!  What a memory!!   I haven't heard this song since the 80's!!!!    What fun!!!!!

Hey, I resemble that remark!  Old folks boogie indeed.
Lucky to see them live up here in northern Michigan in 06. What a concert!
Been a FEAThead for many, many years. Turning it up and dancing!

Brilliant album.  Every track should be playlisted here.  Same w/Feats Don't Fail Me Now.

Feat are generally a great live band but I've seen em mail in shows, too, probably a function of a touring schedule that's clearly too heavy.  When they're on, though, they're still one of the great live acts, even without Lowell.  When the late, great Ritchie Hayward (RIP to one of the great groove drummers that ever picked up sticks) was too sick to tour I gather they had a replacement —- anybody seen the band with him?

My kind of Boogie !
Not the easiest tempo to get to groove,Feat can.
Love those lyrics.  Super tune from a really good album.  Lots of good songs on this one.

Richie Hayward did just pass away....

Little Feat..  more is better; bumper stickers should be issued.

{#Clap}

Just makes me think of the movie The Full Monty with Tom Jones ' You can leave your hat on'
I've always loved the refrain: "You know/That you're over the hill/Mind makes you promises your body can't fill...."  I once wrote something about an underpowered car and sort of quoted this song: "The styling's making promises the drivetrain can't fill."
Saw these guys up here in Calumet, MI, in '06, and they really brought it. Fine stuff. Didn't their drummer just pass away?
