Afraid to lose control
And caught up in this world
I've wasted time, I've wasted breath
I think I've thought myself to death

I was born without this fear
Now only this seems clear
I need to move, I need to fight
I need to lose myself tonight

Come with me now
I'm gonna take you down
Come with me now
I'm gonna show you how

I think with my heart and I move with my head
I open my mouth and it's something I've read
I stood at this door before, I'm told
But a part of me knows that I'm growing too old

Confused what I thought with something I felt
Confuse what I feel with something that's real
I tried to sell my soul last night
Funny, he wouldn't even take a bite

Far away
I heard him say (come with me now)
Don't delay
I heard him say (come with me now)

I'd kind of given up on rating songs on RP (cause the system lacks granularity as i've mentioned elsewhere), but having read the slagging this song seems to be getting for no reason of the songs fault, and the current rating total being 6.9 (which in my opinion should read '69'), i've just given it a '70' (a '7' in this sledgehammer system), because i like it.
and i have to say i have never ever heard it played on any other radio station at all ever.
Just my tu'pence worth, as always.

don’t know about you but i gave it a 10 a while ago, just because i love this song

I completely agree. This is very catchy and very RP. I knew nothing about this band, and have never heard this track elsewhere except for one place. On YouTube, many years ago, I followed a young woman who drove a big rig! Her name is Allie Knight and this was one of her favourites. In fact she made her own video to go with it and the band approved. The thing I like most about RP is the randomness. I hear stuff I haven't heard before, and haven't heard anywhere else. Long live RP!

Woah is interchangeable with whoa.  To stop.
Lekker South African rock! Luvit. Thanks guys.
It's just good ole fashioned foot stompin'  music!
It's more than 'kind of' catchy. It makes me tap my toes and curl my lips into a smile when it starts. It's a tune. Doesn't matter I heard it first in an ad.
Modern rock radio has driven this into the ground for me. And that's fine. It's not my cup of tea.

They sound strikingly like their father, which is neat.
Why the outrage at this tune? It's kinda catchy and fun, I think. Please keep this in rotation. It's good marching music.

Can definitely hear a bit of John Kongos in this one.

Sometimes you cannot avoid it. Is that so hard to understand ? What`s wrong with you people. Can`t tolerate ANY criticism.

No, I'm pretty astute...just don't find this very pleasant at all...definitely would not recommend.  And I'm okay with that...

I think sunflowerbee has the right attitude on this one.  Try it you might like it.
Like the entire album. Heard it a few years ago and played it a lot. First time hearing it on RP.
At the right time, right place, in the right frame of mind, this song is a 9.5. Other times it's just an 8.

TIP: avoid your local station which overplays it. Listen more to RP which doesn't overplay it. Plays (last 30 days): Main Mix - 4  =once a week (168 hours)
OR
Revert to your local station which overplays it ... that way we don't get your whining comments

Saw them live twice. The first time it was a surprise as a support for another band. I had never heard of these guys, but they rocked! After that I looked them up and you can definitely hear their father's influence in the music they make. The second time I bought a ticket to a show in Amsterdam and they blew off the roof! Got me a signed vinyl record as a present

To those people who like hearing the same crap,  then I suggest iHeartRadio

Reminds me of the "Sail" guys.  Catchy for a handful of seconds, then annoying and contrived and sponsored by Red Bull.
One of maybe two or three songs where I "PSD".

What a waste, when you have such a great voice. But you gotta pay your bills, I understand.
This is a BOP.

I think this deserves a bit higher than it is getting.  Catchy but IMO a good catchy.  Just a matter of taste.  Always thought they sang it as "War Come With Me Now" but it's "WHOA" - does make more sense.  Their dad must be proud.  He of "He's Gonna Step On You Again" and "Tokoloshe Man" fame from the early '70s (John Kongos) - also played here occasionally.  These are his kids.  Still, a guilty pleasure tune.

Hear! Hear! Just because it is played on the radio doesn't make it wrong.

This is one of my PSD favorites!

PRO TIP: Avoid the radio instead! Then you can evaluate music on its own merits instead of holding this station up to some weird "I don't like it because I heard it elsewhere" hipster standard.
Piece of shit

Not one to post negative comments but hell, I can think of a lot of other SA artists I'd rather hear on the highly esteemed RP.

I heard the same thing.  So I looked it up on another lyric site:  https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/kongos/comewithmenow.html. On that site they are singing "Whoa".  Which sounds an awful lot like war.

Why do I suddenly have an urge to buy a pickup?
Like some others I instantly thought of John Kongos and so looked them up on Wiki. I think the track is better than it's current rating, which is perhaps low due to being overplayed in the USofA (but not in the UK). The album is quite good too - some tracks show more of their father's influence than others.

I was wrong - but looked it/him up, and found out that the band are - his 4 sons .......

And the release was produced by him!
Acknowledging the political correctness of the comments bellow, this cut has very serious stones and a genuinely primal drive.  Gave it an 8.
the soundtrack for army boot camp and beyond to afghanistan!
According to Bill, the four sons of John Kongos are in this band.

Definitely a conspiracy.

I like the really complicated, shuffling rhythms to this, but I keep hearing the chanted verse as "War! Go (not come) with me now!"  Doesn't make a lot of sense, but then it doesn't have to.

I love it every time you play this song! I bought their album based on this song and I am thrilled. I recommend this groups music 100%. It'd be nice to hear other cuts (Hey I Don't Know, I'm Only Joking, Kids These Days) - please consider expanding the playlist. Thanks!
Love this song!  Disappointed that it's been co-opted by movies and commercials so quickly.  But doesn't take anything away from its general awesomeness.
"I've wasted time
I've wasted breath

Love the lyrics and it's very relevant to my state of mind these days.
love the segue into Chet Atkins!
Great legacy continued by the next generation.  Like it.
Great song to wake up to!
Interesting, eclectic, but very groovy album.
I've heard this a few times now and I really like it!  Def one I will be finding on iTunes and adding to my collection. {#Bananajam}
Played 9 times in the last 30 days.
My 7 year old loves this song - i'm starting to hate it.
I respect these guys and I enjoy the variety we hear on RP, but this chorus is fingernails on my chalkboard.
Thanks to you, RP, I just went and bought the album. I know I won't be disappointed. {#Drummer}
Sounds like a good New Orleans song. Being from New Orleans I can say that.{#Guitarist}

OK, not sure what it is that I like about this.  It's incredibly quirky, the way the accordion mingles with the slide guitar and the shouty alternative vocals.  I definitely like it though.  Off to explore the artist on Napster (streaming music service, not illegal download service).

Edit.  I like the 2007 album.  I think I'm quite likely to buy the new one.

This is mastered horribly. I've tamed it quite a bit, though. Should be better now.
Excellent fun song. I first heard this in a quirky movie whose name escapes me at the moment.

Bill even knows about John Kongos - impressed!{#Clap}
That was f-ing brilliant. Loved it

This song is currently being played on the local "alternative" radio station as well as the "hard Rock" radio station...

Not sure if it's good enough for repeated hearings, but it's a bit different and it rocks. 7 > 8.

Thank you RP - I just found this band and love this song! Can't remember the last time I liked a song with an accordion. I like it when you introduce current music.
