Enjoying this Song in Collioure France. :-)
I love the quiet, haunting and calm sound of those cords. Such a floating and yet deep sound. This is definitely my type of music !

It's a sunny afternoon in Istanbul.
This is *really* close to Bryan Ferry's "Zamba", off of the "Bette Noire" album. Drove me crazy trying to figure it out.

Hmm. I just found American Portraits at both Amazon and Overstock via Yahoo Shopping as "The Butch Baldassari Trio" complete with album cover.

It's called "Roncoco," after one of the many little-known stringed instruments that the Santaolalla, "the Bob Dylan of South America," plays on the disk.
(If I was more technical, I would try to upload a song or two. Maybe someday.)

Butch is one of the greats of mandolin virtuosity. This album is really good, as are most of his efforts. One of the cleanest mando pickers out there.

Very beautiful... 
This is good music. Reminds a bit of David Lanz or other artists in the Narada Collection. IMHO the mandolin does not dress up the song as much as the guitar work does, but to each artist his/her own inspiration.
I'm glad some of you enjoyed this. It was my very first upload, added within minutes of being submitted! Which lulled me into a false sense of security... subsequent uploads were either sorried within a day or are now in extended "reviewing" stage. Oh well....
