Yep. Told King James the same thing...
The original version happens to be one of my favorite Cure songs and I have to give them credit for usually doing a great job on their remixes i.e. the tracks found on "Mixed up" but this unfortunately does not do it for me. I believe I actually prefer the Dinosaur Jr. version to this.

word.
yuck. more proof that 'mixing' is not the same as writing, performing and mixing the original. waste of IP traffic IMO.

I like this. a little more chunky, a little more sparing. I often find Cure songs to be too noisy, they don't leave any empty space to give the song a pulse, so this is nice.
funky!
Quite likeable :)
Liked the original better, but this is still pleasant.
Yuk! How could the Cure themselves do this to my favorite Cure song!
So far, it's unanimous. Chalk me onto the "like the old one better" side. I agree, if you're putting out a new album, write some new music. I guess they wanted to lose the techno-80s beat, but I don't think the remix made any improvement. Not all revisions are good ones...

Don't be confused by the Amazon links above. The new album contains all new material. Oh, and I agree. The original mix is far superior to this one.
:nodhead: Thanks for the correction. The original version is playing right now and I realized it is also showing the Amazon links. I must have been dizzy! And yes, I agree original is better.

Why not come up with something new in the new album after all these years?

Gets a bottom of the barrel rating simply for trashing the most glorious piece of music the Cure ever recorded with silly production tricks.
I like the original much better. :nodhead:
