I truly believe those who don't like this, only don't because it is African

What an extraordinary statement.  Are we now required to like something because of its origins?  I base my taste entirely on what my ears like, not what my cultural antennae tell me to like.

Or try to deny (everybody's) African ancestry.

Cynaera's support for RP is now entirely based on the fact she is considered the best poster ever here, terribly missed since she died about 7 years ago; I'd say she did more than enough to help support RP with her comments alone.

Long Live RP and all of Cynaera's supportive posts!!

Hmmmm. If you can afford a computer, a place to put the computer, the power to run the computer and an internet connection to stream the music. . . then I would have thought you can afford to contribute something to RP.

The computer I have was purchased in 2003. The place where I put the computer, the power to run it, and the internet connection are all belonging to my brother, who is on disability.  If I had even five dollars to donate, I would, because RP is worth it.

Not that any of this is your business, but I thought I should set the record straight, since your logic seems to be a bit skewed.

I am in the process of giving everything I have got. The king of rock 'n' roll is unique. Life wouldn't be the same without RP
Wonderful, atmospheric song.

I wish we could get special treats (like being entered into the "Win A Vacation" contest even if we can't afford to be a supporter) for recruiting new RP members.  *sigh*

Couldn't get this song to work for me tonight, but then, I'm in an "MmmBop" mood, so there's really no hope... {#Lol}

Especially during this tune!   4.5 if there was one.

Me, too.  But substitute "despite" for "for."

judging from the comments this song plays once ever 2-3 months...

sounds OK if I am only going to hear it once every few months.
Very Very plane, i dont like it

is that Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan?

You're just teasing, right? I think this is a Malian artist! Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was a Qawwali (singer?) from Pakistan.

some people spend way too much time in their heads {#Beat}
Very nice. Thank you.

Peter Gabriel - In Your Eyes    ==>    Tama - Ta'aba

is that Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan?
Genetic memories. Ah yes.
WOW nice transition from Peter Grabiel's "In Your Eyes." Genious!  {#Clap}

Excelsior? Ugh.  No thanks.  {#Puke}

Tama? {#Dance} yes yes yes!
Just too redundant for me. Where's the fire, or the emotion in this? Too blah for me.

Me, too. I was talking to a co-worker some minutes ago and he was all "Chemical Brothers? I love that!" and then he walked by again to Gabriel, and just now he walked by and asked where this music was coming from. Second time this week I have been able to turn people on to RP! Excellent, excellent

 I listen to RP for stuff like this.
Ugh.  No thanks.  {#Puke}

Thanks RP for playing this kind of world music too. Your mixes are great! This song is especially welcome after that Peter Gabriel song, ugh. So, so bland and overplayed. Ah well.
I was just going to write that this song has - a very similar triangle rythm as the PG song - vocals that are somewhat similar to Youssou N'Dour's backing vocals on the PG song (Senegal & Mali, close enough for me) I suppose that's why Bill put this after PG. I just checked to see if someone has already pointed this out, when I saw that you seem to have missed it completely. So there. You can still disagree though.
Ethnic music always makes me giddy.
Who keeps bumping the CD player...?
Had to stop what I was doing and just listen, it makes my morning that much more enjoyable. Nice tune.
nicely done. These transitions are the BEST!
Hi RP , 1.30pm in europe : yes good to hear that kind of music too .
Thanks RP for playing this kind of world music too. Your mixes are great! This song is especially welcome after that Peter Gabriel song, ugh. So, so bland and overplayed. Ah well.

This is lovely stuff, but the file is mis-named. The singer is Tama and the song title is "Ta'aba".
...........And then............this.......a 3 . :(
