I don't have any problems with the Android app/Android Auto.

Sometimes a Stop/Start will give it a kick in the arse, but other times I have to do a Sync.

It will sometimes start streaming again on its own.  I have an impression, but no hard data, that when this happens there is a short burst of music, a promo announcement and then music.

The freezes seem more frequent on the TV. I wonder if it could be a timing issue that depends on the horsepower of the CPU.  Maybe something involving ACK/NAK's.  Are any counters or buffers reset going into a promo?

Does anybody, especially from RP, know if or how this problem can be eliminated?  Looking through the forum, other people appear to have/have had the same problem.

The problem  is RP will have media focus until another app requests focus.    Some apps won't take focus till you start playing something.    You should be able to avoid this by  navigating to a  play button on the screens interface and hitting select,  rather than using the play button on the remote.    Once the new app has started playing you should be able to  use the remotes   play/pause  function.

Hi Bill and Rebecca,

I love the possibility to create a "My Favorites" list/channel using my ratings.
To let this list get larger I would like to use another channel, containing the songs I've not rated yet. Is it possible to create such a channel?

Hi RP, some information for you, & a request if you have a solution to a minor irritation.
Since the end of 2019 I'm getting short - 1 to 3 second - breaks in RP internet streaming. It's not every day but when it happens it can be about once an hour or so, sometimes it happens more than once over a few minutes.
I have a Naim player & using the Naim app with their 'iRadio' selecting RP via 'Naim's Choice' AAC 44.1kHz 320kb/s. Its the same problem on all the Paradise stations, Paradise & Mellow, but I don't get it on any of the other Naim's Choice stations or other browsed stations. Naim have looked at it & believe its a possible problem on your server
My internet download line speed is around 70mb/s, buffer is always 100%
Any ideas & information ?

Yes. Because I get to the next song and think "I'll bet that was a cool segue."

Not really sure what bitrates all those would be using  or if the laptop is using the same one.

In general you can try to improve the wifi connection or lower the bitrate to see if anything helps.

You can use something like wifi analyzer  on a phone to  check the wifi signal strength  at the speakers location.
Can help find deads spots or if  it's  on a crowded channel.

And if  the device lets you enter  custom stream urls.
Can try some different ones from here to see if any behave better.
https://radioparadise.com/listen/stream-links

And rebooting router/device can often help with connection issues as well.
So always worth a try.

This is most likely networking.   Can try rebooting the  modem/router if it's been a while.

You can also take a look under the hood to see what's going on with the  connection.

Right click anywhere on the page.
Inspect  ->  select the network tab,    then   select  media  to limit it to the  audio files.

On my Windows 10 system, both the old and new players will sometimes just stop playing, with no indication of error or problem (and the network is fine).  I've seen this for a few months, indeed just kind of got away from Radio Paradise (almost subconsciously) because it gets really annoying.  I've checked what I think are all the obvious possible culprits (anti-virus, local net events that might have interrupted, local computer status in detail) and none seem to be the problem cause.

I *can* often restart just by hitting "Play" again (older interface), and on the newer page when it happens the "start listening" button is enabled, so it seems that the website has somehow sensed the issue (I can't immediately test this again while composing this message).

Is there any  log/error report on the website I could get access to to at least see what your website *thinks* has gone wrong?
