Whenever I remember you and I
So many years since you were by my side
And still my thoughts you occupy
And still your face is frozen in my mind
It's hard to win, easy to lose
We play a game we cannot choose
As steady as a rocking horse, as subtle as a bruise
I could've been the one still with you but something in the way
Brought our private universe into the cold light of day
Just when I have forgotten you that's when the longing starts
Nostalgia seeps into my head and I realize that I've been
Waiting for all these years
Waiting for all these years
Whenever I'm alone in troubled times
My silent screams, my innocence, my crimes
I wish that you were still here by my side
Without you here the darkness magnifies
It's hard to win, easy to lose
It's a lovely game we cannot choose
As steady as a rocking horse, as subtle as a bruise
Waiting for all these years
Waiting for all these years
I could've been the one to love you but something interfered
Took away the innocence and our world just disappeared
Just when I think I'm over you something unlocks the past
Memories pour into my brain and then the longing starts
Waiting for all these years
Waiting for all these years
We've just been
Waiting for all these years
Waiting for all these years
So many years since you were by my side
And still my thoughts you occupy

Bridgette Amofah, wow...what a fabulous voice! One of my favorites... I love the way they put the strings to accompany it. Lovely song!

Would love to see them back at Glastonbury Festival in the UK, lovely memory of seeing them live in the Avalon Field.
One of the many reasons to thank RP for introducing me to a band I might never have found. Love it, love it, love it.
The clarinet is great too!
Love, love, LOVE their Laughter Through Tears album, especially the oft-played Refugee!

This girl sings!
Fabulous. Thanks RP.
One of my favorite albums ever. Dusty Road is another fantastic track, but Bill clearly knows that already ;).
ditto. loving this!
Fan-flippin-tastic. Love this track.
I love this. WHy have I never hear dit before? Instant fave.
This always makes me think of the intro to Six Feet Under...
How come I haven't rated this masterpiece?
Plucking brilliant! :o)
ahh, the Klezmasters. . .

Oh dear! Klezmer engrafted rock. Oh dear! I likes it.
I like this, especially that plucky instrument. Is that a Harp?
i thought it was Ricki Lee Jones. how much I know.

Don't listen to music on the internet. That should substantially cut down on your exposure.

Ironically, for someone who listens to RP 7 hours a day, I often take a while to warm up to songs. This one has definitely grown on me.

Good song, but played far too often!
Sometimes when I hear this kind of plucking it sounds forced or cruel, as if the instruments are in danger. There's none of that here. They're just tickling them, it sounds to me. Enchanting.

Good song, but played far too often!
Nice album cover.
Very nice!
Beautiful!
I like this, but for me it was Sophie Solomon who did it for me.

I was thinking that or the Dexter intro.
Is it just me, or does that plucking sound remind anyone else of the music from Six Feet Under? Doesn't mean I don't like this song (I do!), but it just puts another level on it to me while I listen.

This is actually starting to grow on me so I just up-rated it a bit :)
I'm really liking these guys. Their style has improved a bit recently to be, I think, a bit less "Klezmer-ish." I've never been really crazy about the screechy clarinet in Klezmer but that's the genre's schtick! The band's newer stuff is much more creative and varied - but still keeping to their roots.
Oy vey!
I LOVE this PLUCKING song! Really.
I like Sophie Solomon who used to be in this group but I just can't get into this so much.

Real nice song. Is the artist French?

Reality Check - The album has 12 songs on it and RP has 4 in the library, so it's a falsehood to say that the whole album got dumped into heavy rotation. Also, you must not have been listening very long to RP if you think this is heavy rotation - Doves, Neko Case and Porcupine Tree come to mind.

It is a great album, but I am beginning to feel that every third song we hear is oi va voi. It's too much. Each song may follow the standard RP formula for play-time, but since the whole album got dumped into heavy rotation at the same time - and considering that the songs all sound simmilar - considering the album as a whole, it is easily the heaviest heavy rotation I have heard on RP for years.
One of the best CD's in this year so far. Every song fantastic!!

No kidding. This is the first Oi Va Voi tune that I haven't found painful to hear.

You can really feel KT Tunstall's style in this (she used to be in this band).
at first I wasn't sure...this song one me over, play more!
Oie Vay...
Real nice song. Is the artist French?

An inspired use of pizzicato: mesmerising, insistent .. underpinning a great song, beautifully sung.
