You were the girl that changed my world
You were the girl for me
You lit the fuse, I stand accused
You were the first for me
But you turned me out, baby
You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me (But you turned me on, baby)
You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me
You were my thrills, you were my pills
You dropped a bomb on me
You turn me out, you turn me on
You turned me loose, then you turned me wrong
You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me (But you turned me out, baby)
You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me
Just like Adam and Eve, said youd set me free
You took me to the sky, Id never been so high
You were my pills, you were my thrills
You were my hope, baby, you were my smoke
You dropped a bomb, hey, babe
You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me (But you turned me out, baby)
You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me (But you turned me on, baby)
You dropped a bomb on me, baby (Mmm)
You dropped a bomb on me (You dropped a bomb on me, baby)
You dropped a bomb on me, baby
You dropped a bomb on me
We were in motion, felt like an ocean
You were the girl for me
You were the first explosion, turned out to be corrosion

A roller rink staple!
LOVE hearing this even on RP. thanks!!
WOA...someone changed the "internet channel"!
Saw these guys just a few years ago...songs were great but live performance was pretty sloppy. Still fun though. Can't complain after 40 years.

I hated disco in the 70s, and I still hate it.
Not even campy; just nasty.
Now THAT'S eclectic! Didn't see this one coming but I'm glad you picked it.
Clever follow up to Blondie's Atomic too.

Great choice for the start of New Year's Eve
This is so cheesy. I love it. And I'm with the previous commenter who asked for Rick James - I have happy memories of hanging out at the beach hearing that song.
all I could hear was "you bet the farm on me" lol!
Is it over yet?
On the one hand, this is really bad. On the other hand, it is incredibly funny.
I can't believe the low ratings for this song! How can it be?! This is iconic!
TY RP
Wooo! Awesome segue from "Atomic".
Great song! 8
Bill,
Please don't tell me its time to look for a new station!!

What's next? Rick James' "Super Freak"?
No, really, can you play "Super Freak" by Rick James?

I can listen to crap on every other radio station, please not this one too!
Wow, this brings back some great memories of very foggy days and nights when it wasn't foggy outside.

I logged in just to rate this P.O.S. a 1 but saw I already did

Who needs this?
Jamiroquai dreamt with this all night before releasing a disc... Gotta luv it.
THIS is the BOMB!
A classic - wow have not heard this in a looooong time. Fun to revisit - the ladies always love this one (in which case of course I do as well!)
FLASHBACK! Nice one.
Fun stuff! Nice change!
Bill's definitely feeling his Post-Ideological Hegemonic Guilt tonight.

This may be the weirdest comment you're going to get for this song, but... This song always reminds me of my mom.

Bill you dropped a bomb on us. Brilliant segues. :-)
Look what Bill found in that old shoe box for a pair of velvet platforms.!
Haven't heard this since high school (87ish)... still pretty good. thanks for playing it.

Good question.
This brings back good memories of rollerskating (not rollerblading) in the early 80s. Good times and a fun song!
Now you done it.......now I know for SURE RP is the epitome of cool. Nuff said.
My god, Bill is on fire.
Might Makes Right --> Breakfast in America --> Political Science --> You Dropped a Bomb on Me
It's a tongue in cheek subversion fest!!

Outstanding!
Uh-oh... the Funk has arrived!
Judging by the picture, I would say their fashion sense is questionable at best. The song? Maybe back in the day it sounded good, but it sure hasn't aged well.
true that!
Greenwood, Archer and Pine!

That bomb dropping in the background is seriously freaking my cat Dougal out!
the Greenwood, Archer and Pine Street Band aka the Gap Band rocks! I was not even born when they formed, yet I still love this band.
I keep thinking about some record exec thinking hey lets dress this guys up like cowboys and do a bomb song. That will be a hit
i had forgotten the bomb dropping sound. with good reason. this one deserves to stay in the vault for a few more decades
This is such a fun song! Can't help but start grooving to it.
Man, this brings me back!
UUgghh! Not my thing.
I wonder what the name of this song is?
Funky!

This stuff was ground breaking. This song in particular is very well crafted. I love the barely audible tremolo organ in the background. That is a staple of the dance funk(?) music from this era and was emulated by Prince, the Time, and a lot of knock-off bands. The Gap Band actually made a lot of great music and released a lot of albums, but this is the one that they got the attention for. They had a few songs that made this one sound tame.

Now that's one Pep Band I would have paid good money to see.
This was probably my favorite song to play in Pep Band way back when, but I don't think I've ever heard the actual version before.

I thought this smelled of disco...peeuoo...
Funniest damn song when you are 7 years old, thinking about it in a completely literal sense.
In the past 2 weeks I have heard some of the most unexpected RP selections. The kind of songs that make me stop what I'm doing, scratch my head, and check to make sure iTunes didn't skip to a different station.
...and I like it. Way to keep people guessing, Bill! Comfort zones are meant to be stepped out of.

what the funk?!
It's the falling-bomb whistle effect that really sets it off.
Damn, this is fun.

This was one of my mom's favorite songs when I was growing up, but I haven't heard it in ages... thanks!
yes, Yes, YES!!!
I love it! And I loved it back in the day.
Great follow up to Randy Newman, Bill! I had this song on the first cassette I ever owned, "Hits of 1980" or something like that. from Ktel. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
What fun! Welcome to RP!
I was just trying to "explain" this song to my high schooler — last night! — when it came on the radio in the car. He's going to his school's first "disco dance...." this weekend...
Wait! Is the very next song telling me this *ain't* no disco? ;-)

That is JUST what I was thinking. I looked, the only bomb so far is the wall st bailout.
After this set I am almost afraid to turn the news on. Is there something going on out there I don't want to hear about?

OMG! Too funny. I'd completely forgotten about this song.
Somebody is in a GOOD mood today!
Never in a million years would I have expected this from Bill. I love it!
This was big when I was in H.S: in the morning you could hear that whistle all over the parking lot. I don't miss those days one bit, but I sure like this music. Funk it up, baby!

Classic from a time when musicians played instruments instead of computers to make music, and what a great segue!
something on his mind?
This is too rich and too funny! Thanks for the continuing wry humor here on RP!
hilarious to hear this on RP. reminds me of 8th or 9th grade.
Yet another reason why Bill is the KING, let me write that again, the KING of the playlist.
bad, VERY bad college memories. still funny though.
bwahahahahahahahahaha CLASSIC
Hell yeah!
OMG. Don't know how I feel about the song, but the segue was tremendous.
