Walkin' - for your love
Walkin' - for your love
Walkin' - for your love
I'm only going where my eyes are going
I'm only going where my toes are pointed
I just bought me this new pair of big shoes
I'm only going if I can walk there with you
Shinin' - for your love
Shinin' - for your love
Shinin' - for your love
Shinin' - for your love
I'm afraid to open my eyes
I'm even afraid to look at you
Right here - I'm gonna open my eyes
I'm gonna move with you
Disappearin' - for your love
Disappearin' - for your love
Disappearin' - for your love
Disappearin' - for your love
We're only going in this closet here
I'm only going if the doorknob turns
I'm only going if the light goes on
I'm only going if I can boogie with you
Ugh...that bass line sounds like a student player exercise...
I don't know any students who jams like the bass player does at the breaks.

Yeah... it's that 80's-90's production sound. Ruined so many good songs!
But there is nothing here that catches my attention. Where are the creative lyrics? Interesting melody? I see that others think the same as you, but after attending >50 Dead shows over several decades, I cannot see the similarity. Other than a lengthy duration.
There it is.
Bob Weir on vocals.
Fukingreoovin!

Ten years ago, my sons were playing on a very, very good high school soccer team. They, with another stout-hearted young man, made a formidable defense that took the team to the Florida state championship game.
One day I said something complimentary about that young man, and my older son replied, "Yeah, I think he has a feel for the game that comes from him getting high all the time."
"What?!?!"
Younger son: "C'mon, Dad, you didn't know he was a head? After all, he owns every Widepsread Panic CD ever printed."
Later that night, over the internet, I ordered every Widespread Panic CD ever printed. They have not disappointed.
"Kids, don't do drugs! Unless your dad is unclehud!"

Everybody in my galactic presidential campaigns loves this song... we be dancing like bowlegged gypsy muleskinners... we love sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll... hope life is grand for you right this minute, smackiepipe...
I will refrain from any thoughts regarding condom usage and the like, but this song, which I have heard many times here, never seems to get anywhere. What is the f-ing point? There is a riff and there it is again: and again, ad infinitum (well, in truth it does end). It's not especially offensive, but neither does there seem to be any structure or point. Repeated listenings have failed to advance the case for the merits of this song. Maybe it's just me.
I think "a riff...again and again..without structure" is their point, as it seems to be with most so-called "jam bands". It doesn't do much for me either, but plenty of folks seem to enjoy it.
A Scott mention on RP nice. I've been thinking about a Creek upload - what might pass LRC?

Funny you mention Scott, becaue I feel that he way overplays the guitar. To each his own, but when I listen to Murawski play, I think that he needs a good editor.
When Houser played with WSP he had a very unique guitar approach. The band is very different now with Herring who I actually think has a similar approach as Scott.
It's also possible that I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about.

Easy for you to say and I agree!
I hate this song. I like this song. I won't rate it because I'm so ambivalent about it that I just can't make up my mind.
Uh huh - just got me, too. Not to mention that I'm surprised so many remember him!
Yes, you don't really hear Steve Forbert's name much anymore. He's still at it though; he played around here not long ago.
I see from the posts I'm not the only one

Good groove to get ya boppin on a Monday morning.
I hope by now you know who the whoever is.
Nah, Forbert's voice has NEVER sounded half as forced as JB's.
So am I and I'm not happy about it.
proving once again that excelsior has absolutely no idea what he's talking about.
After Clapton's version of the blues, I'm glad they're grouped together. Sort of like a cloudy day. Ya just know its gonna improve eventually. Blow, wind, blow.
Agreed. I missed a chance (several actually) to see them play at the flippin' National Guard Armory at Clemson U (go Tigers) for 5 bucks in the mid 80's. Idiot.
