This doesn't remind of anything - just Santigold!
I think it's I - vi - iii here and I - IV - vi there

Well, it's a pretty basic chord progression: I - IV - vi.

Anyone recognize the intro from the Marketplace Morning Report on NPR? David Brancaccio must be a Santigold fan too. Mo respect.

I think we're seeing a shift in the Radio Paradise format this summer to include more of today's hits.  Looks like Bill is doing a good job curating the songs while keeping a lot of the old favorites.

But this song by Santigold came out in 2012.  Not a hit "today" I still love it. My oldest son turned me on to her in 2008. When I heard L.E.S. Artistes, I was hooked. And I am now still listening to her and I will be 66 in April 2024.

Listening to the intro music, I thought of Arcade Fire.

Thoughtful?

I'm sure that this song has been played on RP much longer than you may realize.  It was released back in 2012 and I'm sure that I heard it way back.   ...but then again, my memory is suspect.

Heh... yeah, no doubt. BTW -- Iggy just released a NEW ALBUM that freakin' rocks!

She has songs I like better, but it's nice to see her on here.
Who came first...21 pilots or D Y.? Im curious

Nobody said anything about it being new or not on RP. The release date listed was just incorrect.
Cool song
How is this from 2012?  I would have guessed this is a newer release as it sounds more polished and more topical for the 2020s.

Really good track! But it's not new, I have it in playlists for a long time.

Wikipedia:

"Disparate Youth" is a song from American musician Santigold. The track was released in the United States on 14 February 2012 as the lead single from the artist's second studio album, Master of My Make-Believe (2012)

Reminds me if Rhianna.

Makes me think Bill's playing Rihanna for a second...and that it's Shy Ronnie & Clyde.
She has a couple of songs I enjoy. You should play some of her other music too.
really liked this songs the first times i've heard it.
now after 20+ times the song gets boring.
For Nigel...oh ah oh ah

Sort of a Silversun Pickups vibe.
This is from 2012, not 2022...

This a really solid song,

BUT

this style of drum track is definitely gonna be this generation's gated reverb snare
loved this from the first time of hearing - everything is perfect about it for me 👍
