Serve the patient to the best of your abilities, regardless of whether or not that they are going to follow your advice which they came to you for in the first place. However if you find that a high percentage of your advice is being ignored as evidenced by non compliance then maybe it is time to look at yourself and reevaluate what it is that you are considering and doing because as time passes it is possible that you have become out of step, not the patient.
But what do I know. I'm just an old irrelevant waste of space in time anymore. At least I know it though.

Fantastic question: what does it matter? Why is it being brought up at this moment?
Because the easily led will talk about something that they don't/can't really understand ad nauseam and throw around accusations and insist they know when, of course, they don't have a damned clue.
Why now?
Easy.
The president has failed at his job. He is a serial adulterer, felon, rapist, liar, repeated business failure, probably senile - and has nothing at all to brag about to his followers. So he spreads rumors of voter fraud (never discovered) and riles up his team about Fauci (why now?) and attacks Iran (a complete embarrassment) and makes the USA much much more weak in terms of financial stability, infrastructure, education, food availability and affordability, military readiness, and moral high ground. There is not one thing he's done that's made the USA better.
But he did make billions for himself and his family, so there's that.
And so how to distract everyone from this? Agent of Chaos Rand Paul is sent to try to get more dirt from Fauci, who isn't naive and refuses. (Remember trump took the 5th more than 400 times during a civil fraud case, so be careful how you judge Fauci for doing it.)
But let's get back to the beginning, now that there's context: trump has a history of being reprehensible, unequivocally; Fauci, OTOH, does not. So the point behind podcasters and basement dwellers trying to smear his name now is...because Paul is obsessed with "getting him" and it's supported because it's distracting from the failed senile president. There is no practical reason for the "investigation" otherwise.
And so, we're in agreement. All this is speculative looking into a foggy cracked rear view mirror to declare some weird "truth." We ask again: WHAT DOES IT MATTER?
Like investigating the 2020 election, the riot at the capitol, the invasion of the southern border, and a few other issues, the 'Rona episode will be uncovered and the truth brought to light because they are all of a piece.
