Time's gone inside out
Time gets distorted with
This intense gravity
I don't got time for holy rollers
Though they may wash my feet
And I won't be their soldier

There's intense gravity in you
(There's intense gravity in you)
I'm just your satellite
(I'm just your satellite)

Ooh, and I know that time's gone inside out
And now it's only like I told you
Mmm, though they may wash my feet
They do not make me complete

Break out of character for me
Time keeps on going when
We got nothing else to give
We got nothing else to give

Ooh, cause our time's gone inside out
I don't make time for holy rollers
Mmm, there's only you I need
They do not make me complete

GREAT TUNE!  Spoon is hit or miss for me. This tune is a HIT.   Thanx RP!

Manners please!  Everyone knows Cake is eaten with a Fork!  (unless of course it is ice-cream cake, but that is another misnomer in and of itself...)
A quand une tournée de Spoon en France ?

This song always makes me think of The Goonies, specifically when the kids find One-Eyed Willy's treasure map. 10 for me.
Please play more songs off of Girls Can Tell.

That is all.  Thank you B & R.
Thanks RP for introducing me to SPOON! Really have come to enjoy their catalogue!
That solo sounds like a harp almost. How fun. Creates a dreamy space.
Love it
GOOD TUNE!!  I really like this tune, but I don't care for a lot of their other music. Thanx RP!
Perfect transition from 100,000 people by Kings of Leon...  Well done Billg
The more I hear this tune, the more I like it!!  Thanx RP!
can this be followed by XTC's Another Satellite?
Good Tune!! I never heard it before.  Thanx RP!
Following George Harrison's "Art of Dying," this song is a perfect sonic compliment to the preceding tune.
Perfect mix from Kings of Leon… Awesome BillG
Spoon is such an enigmatic, amazing, versatile band, and I love how they have so many different styles and sounds, each a manifestation of their incredible creative genius. Truly, a beacon in the darkness!

Just gotta find an old church to convert into a shop...
Spoonin' and groovin'.......
With every listen I seem to bump up my rating. Now I'm at a 10. Where do I go from here?

Since you like Austin music so much, you should add Ghostland Observatory to the list.  Their first two albums are pretty good and I think would be a good addition to the mix!

Thank you for turning me on to Spoon, best wishes and thanks for all you do!

Uhh...no.  GO might be interesting...once.  I saw them at ACL Musicfest and they did an hour set...with 35 minutes of music and 20 of that was the Univ of Texas Marching Band.  Classic flash-in-the-pan...

Now Spoon...I seem to recall they were going to retire/end the band...then they had a hit and decided to keep going.  Good thing...Good band.

What a nice groove of songs you have played, all new to me, thank you for making my Monday feel groovy!
Smart!
"Time gets distorted with

True.  Gravity does distort time.

There's intense gravity in this.

Because it goes inside out, just like good music does

I agree tired of hearing Paul McCartney

It's almost as if they wanted the drums to sound that way.
I don't like the band but the song has something that I can't escape.
Edit: Thx RP you really changed my opinion on this band. There is only 1 song of which are played here i don't like. The rest is really good. So i guess i like the band, now.

Love the way this goes from one speaker to the other, very clever indeed, the cat wants feeding but she can wait because I'm lost in this tune at the moment.I love my cat, but she should know better.

Very compelling sleeve. And the song is worth attending to, too.
Just the beat alone.  And just possibly one of the best songs ever.
Just saw these guys at Massey Hall in Toronto. Great show and great tunes!

love the podcast - highly recommended.
Light and atmospheric.  Perfect this beautiful morning before a motorcycle ride around the city.

So good.

Earworm.
This set is keeping me up late this evening. Something about someone else spinning the good tunes that brings back good ol' FM radio at night. The song is over and now I can sleep.

Can confirm! I didn't care much for Transference, but this is my favorite album I've bought in the last year. Really tight from front to back.

The Loft is a much more interesting S/XM channel than Spectrum.  Or you can take RP in the car via our free iOS & Android apps — without using cell data if you use our cache function (see https://radioparadise.com/apps).

2 cents:

I've often wondered which S/XM channel most resembles RP, but because of the formats each channel adheres to I always end up streaming RP for it's "eclectic mix" instead. Also, I've noticed the cell/WiFi stream sounds much better on my car speakers than does the satellite stream.

Never-the-less, if I want something I can only find on S/XM I gravitate towards Little Steven's Underground Garage. Sure, he likes to here himself talk, but I like the fact that he's attempting to define garage rock as a cultural category as much as a musical one.

Yeah, sound on our apps (& most Internet radio apps) is going to be significantly better than satellite. S/XM — like 'HD' digital radio in the US & DAB in the UK — prioritizes the number of channels over sound quality. My ears tell me they're down to 24-32kbps per channel these days.

'HD' radio is 96kbps per FM frequency, which sounds great if there's just one audio channel. Add an HD2 channel, however, & you're down to (usually) 64kbps on the main channel & 32kbps on HD2 — worse than analog FM on the HD2 & not much better (some would say worse, due to the artifacts) on the main.

What I've heard of DAB in the UK sounds pretty wretched too. Oh, well.  Sure makes our 128kbps or 320kbps phone streams sound nice by comparison!
a poor mans Warren Zevon imho. still pretty damn good.

Thanks Bill, great to hear from you. We're actually enjoying RP a lot more on our travels through the magic of Bluetooth.

I'd love to wax poetic on what RP has meant to us since we discovered it eight months ago. Maybe it's time to hit the forums ...
I like my Spoon with Cake!

I'm actually liking some of the new music on Spectrum right now (Beck, Dawes, Exes and Ohs). It's just that RP executes the concept so much better.

I would have guessed the same, although that koto-like sound also suggests The Cure. The singer's far better than Robert Smith, though...

Good to hear new Spoon on RP again!  It's been awhile, but it's always fun and invigorating...
