Bump. This was recorded before many of you were born. Just sayin'.
A comment from a few years back indicated that the poster was embarrassed to know who QMS was
Adding a comment to move that disgusting gif post down.
Me too.
if you listen too long you could become a crazy cat
Ah yes - funny how time makes memory fade. In reality, without QMS, the jam band that DEAD fans know and love so much, would not have existed. QMS was one of a very few and elite group of 'jam bands' along with Big Brother (remember?). Back in those days as I recall, (late 60's till about mid-'71) the DEAD were playing country-rock tunes.
Not downplaying the influence QMS had, but yeah, Dark Star (released in 68) is country rock
Posted.
I just threw up in my mouth
Or "Women are Smarter."
That's right!
(This really reminds me of being at a Dead show.)

Love QMS. Saw/heard them many times in late 60's. One of their best songs. Speaking of that era and now, why don't we ever hear any Cold Blood? Can't find them anywhere on RP playlists. One off the most amazing singers (Lydia Pense) and some of the horn players went off to create Tower of Power. How about it Bill?
Or Genya Ravan and Ten Wheel Drive...Much Better'n the Morning,
Yeah...

W.A.S.T.E.
It's past time to forget about Trump. All the attention he gets just feeds his ego.
I'm embarrassed at how much I laughed at this GIF. Pure genius.
I haven't forgotten them and they were one of the great 60's live bands. That's why Bill Graham booked them regularly at the Fillmore. Cipollina (RIP) was a influential guitar player in early West Coast rock.
most disgusting GET HIS SHIT OFF OF MY SCREEN
I have a number of those old posters - a buddy was an artist and collected them at the time. He did several for Mother Earth, most of which are subtly obscene.
I have a Big Brother poster, fair condition, but one corner about an inch square was sliced off with surgical precision. I wonder why...
c.
Are we listening to the same song? I hear a band that was years ahead of its time.
I don't think I ever head this before without being . . . I plead the 5th.
Welcome to Radio Paradise! 🙏
Or is it Beets?
or beats.
Or is it Beets?

ROCK ON, WHAT A CREW!!! WOO-HOOOO!!! : )
Yes and it also strikes me how similar the singer sounds to Jim Morrison.
Totally agree, since the words were different I had to look, LOVE this
This rhythm makes me think of Not Fade Away.

A very pleasant one for sure.
If this doesn't trigger your acid flashback, nothing will.

??????? This cut is the quintessential late 60s West Coast rock Sorry if you don't like it.
Volume UP!
Toto? Kansas? Not on RP! ; )
Volume UP!
It ought to be; Bo Diddley wrote this tune.
Can't help but want to hear "Magic Bus" after this, tho.
Can't help but NOT want to hear Too Much Magic Bus bam bam bam . . . bambam after this.
big smile!
Absolutely. This track is a testament to what could have been, like the Stones and Who in the 70's after the Beatles split.
All in all though, this has to be one of the best rock songs (renditions) in rock history.
Hmm. IMHO, the Dead worked their asses off, held together as a band, toured relentlessly. Quicksilver disintegrated when founding member Dino Valenti returned and, from what I heard, forced Cipollina and Greg Elmore out of the band. They weren't quite the same, and their music showed it. So, if anything, the Dead made their breaks, and Quicksilver simply couldn't.

Yes.
From the gist of your post, I'd guess the lopping off already happened.

Yes. Yes, the "Live at Leeds" version would work nicely.
Five legends down in one fell swoop - impressive kingart, impressive.
Are you recycling a day in May, Bill?
Can't help but want to hear "Magic Bus" after this, tho.
Pure magic.
Actually, this is a true classic of the Psychedelic Era. Perhaps you are plodding and tedious.
How immensely clever and original you are, who would have thought of twisting a comment of a song into a personal slight like that?? Well done.
