How come I end up where I started?
How come I end up where I went wrong?
Won't take my eyes off the ball again
You reel me out, then you cut the string

How come I end up where I started?
How come I end up where I went wrong?
Won't take my eyes off the ball again
First you reel me out and then you cut the string

You used to be alright
What happened?
Did the cat get your tongue?
Did your string come undone?

One by one
One by one
It comes to us all
It's as soft as your pillow

You used to be alright
What happened?
Et cetera, et cetera
Fads for whatever
15 steps, then a sheer drop

How come I end up where I started?
How come I end up where I went wrong?
Won't take my eyes off the ball again
You reel me out, then you cut the string

...and while I´m ranting about repetition, what´s with the "you´re listening to the main mix on Radio Paradise" every three or four songs?  We all *know* what we´re listening to!  Please tone it down a bit...

But then I would be extremely disappointed if RP with its eclectic music mandate and historical range did NOT play lots of music by both these bands.   The talent is obvious; the positive critical reception and enthusiastic following are well known.

And FWIW, I never use the PSD function.  I want the DJ to play stuff that stretches me and that means the odd song that annoys me.

Lord knows, some of my favourite music irritates others, profoundly.

I completely agree with you up to the use of the PSD function.  I love being turned on to new and different music, but I find (maybe due to my advancing age ;-) that when I hear a song I don´t care for, I don´t grow to like it when I hear it 5, 10 or especially 50 more times.  Even music which I have loved for years starts to get moldy (to me) when I hear it every day.  (i.e. you mentioned Talking Heads, and this comment thread is under Radiohead)  I try not to make negative comments, partly because the world is already divided and contentious enough, but mostly because I realize that everyone´s tastes are different, and in the case of music, that´s perfectly cool.  I *do* use the PSD, and unfortunately, much of the time it´s just due to repetition.  I would LOVE it if RP would create an "autoskip" function for songs I rate as 1.  Then individual listeners wouldn´t have to hear songs they don´t like, (or have heard too much), everyone else could enjoy them as they wish, there would be less negative commentary, etc.  There is already a function where I can hear my favorites, but then I would miss out on some of the gems Billiam throws in.  I want to hear everything except the songs I either don´t care for, or that I still actually like, but don´t want to start hating through endless repetition.  It would be a win-win situation!  Anyone who listens every day knows what I mean.  There are many artists we hear every *day*!  I would simply like to be able to temper some of the repetition.  Thanks for listening to my mini-rant!
Dronehead.
Good Tune! But, not their best.

I know Thom York took Radiohead off at a tangent after OK Computer, but depending on your mood, they can still arouse feelings deep in your musical soul that so many bands simply cannot do. The later stuff reminds me of Talk Talk. Can't tell you why exactly, just does. I guess they both pushed the boundaries a bit, and that's never a bad thing.

It may also be Quite Excellent.

Haters will hate, but its the ratings that (mostly) dictate the tunes played here by Bill. Apart from a few notable exceptions, songs that have a low rating are usually culled from playlists.

But how marvellous that this challenging and excellent piece is played here. Hurrah!
Genius. I adore the bass riff.

OUCH! It hurts to rip off my earphones that fast! PSD is just too slow sometimes.
Canned Heat without the groove- really awful music
But mostly, really, what makes this SUCK is Yorke's so-called voice.  {#Moon}
Had an amazing experience with this in Amsterdam last week. 2 drummers and at least 15,000 bouncing, stomping steps!

Musically they are good and unique it is just York's voice that is terrible.  I guess it could be worse, it could be autotuned.

Whoa!  Thanks people who posted the You Tube video of 2009 Grammys — I missed that the first time around.  Very cool!  Now it makes me want to see Tusk — maybe there's a video for that too?  My recent favorite was when James Durbin on American Idol performed Muse-Uprising with a marching band (well not a whole band).

Thank you greedy corporate assbags for blocking that link in the US.  I hate American Idol, but I love Muse and I was in marching band in high school, so I was really interested in seeing it.

It isn't like they didn't make enough money off it the first time, and I highly doubt that you will ever see American Idol on DVD.  At least I hope not, watching that show once is bad enough...
Now I remember why this album was free and I still haven't listened to it in ages. Must we have the ping pong table back in the recording studio.  I know other people liked it on OK computer but really?  Somewhere buried under a mountain of crap I kind of suspect there may be a half way decent song but I can't drown out the rest of the annoying noise to hear it.

Ah yes, the marching band days.  4/4 was easy as most music is written in 4/4.  3/4 was a bit of a challenge.

Of course, I was a percussionist, so there is an argument that was frequently made that we didn't march at all, just walking around the field with heavy drums on.

WOW this actually sounds CLEVER!!!!!! Bit of a throwback to Pablo Honey with all the guitars..

Zeppelin may be amazing.  Zeppelin may have been around first.  But Radiohead to some - including myself - are absolutely brilliant.  This track is no exception.

Just because it's Radiohead doesn't mean this is an automatic 10.  In fact, I'm shocked this has more 10's than say a rarer Led Zep track played here.

7 at best for me, what's so special about this track?
RadioHead continues to reinvent themselves and there sound.....truely a unique album.

I like it anyway!

Still - I hope Bill takes the chance

It was Lindsey Buckingham's idea for Fleetwood Mac to perform his song Tusk with the USC Marching Band, way back in 1979. . .

That's interesting; I don't think I've ever seen or heard any musician or band compared to Paul Auster.   Not that your comparison is inaccurate — he's just kind of a unexpected person to bring up.  I've barely heard any mention of Mr. Auster since the early 1990's.

Not true, there are Radiohead songs I really like. It was more a reaction to the song itself, especially the way it begins.

It's a dark day. My first rating of 1 on RP.

Judging by the previous comments, I'm going to get crucified for this. Have mercy, just being honest...
