Ooh, she does
Yeah, she does
And if somebody loved me like she do me
Ooh, she do me
Yes, she does

Don't let me down
Don't let me down
Don't let me down
Don't let me down

I'm in love for the first time
Don't you know it's gonna last
It's a love that lasts forever
It's a love that had no past
(It's in E, baby)

Don't let me down
Don't let me down (ooh)
Don't let me down
Don't let me down

And from the first time that she really done me
Ooh, she done me
She done me good
I guess nobody ever really done me
Ooh, she done me
She done me good

Don't let me down
(Hey!)
Don't let me down

Can you dig it?

Davidbarth was a plant. They made that stupid remark just to get all of our goats. I still consider The Beatles the G.O.A.T.'s, so that backfired.

That infamous bobby has been interviewed a number of times over the decades. He always sounds rather sheepish. "Just doing my job" but you can still sense his discomfort about the rock/hard place situation. To be fair, he and his boss did not pull the plug right away and gave the Fabs about 20 minutes or so for an orderly wrap up.

Lol!
you could argue that McCartney had the better voice but Lennon was a helluva singer. This song is a great example as is A Hard Day's Night
Ringo is a genius. The base drum in the left earphone is wonderfully off the beat. Yet the rest of his kit is in the right ear. He wasn't that tall.

It wasn't Abbey Road roof top - it was on the roof of the Apple offices in Savile Row - watch the end of film 3 of Get Back - worth it just for the reaction of passers-by in the street below

  Perfect!
Billy Preston's playing makes this song so, so, so good. A highlight while watching the Get Back documentary was when Billy Preston arrived in the studio, specifically how he just sat down at the keys and fit right in with the band.

yes, in Get Back, when he arrives on the scene, he brings the 'thing' they were missing during those sessions.  mind blowing, all the great songs they wrote in less than a month.

Also have to wonder if he induced better behavior amongst themselves. From what I've read, the presence of an outside musician sometimes kept them from bickering. Harrison partly brought in Clapton (on "While my guitar...") knowing this. Billy was clearly an old well liked friend from Hamburg.

If you get the chance to watch the movie "Get Back", you'll see why this band is the greatest RnR band ever...In the world.
ummmm!!!
Just fantastic to watch this song evolve in the Get Back documentary. well worth watching
Yes John, you guys passed the audition.

Thanks to the aliens for helping us avoiding the "there is no alternative" thought.
This rocking jam reminds me of what a bad-ass bassist Paul McCartney is. And what he did with John -- truly, they transcended!
Get Back coming 11/25/21. Amazing footage. Should make naysayers understand our awe.
I like this, a lot, but if it wasn’t The Beatles, what would the ratings be?

Thanks for that link.  Obviously a cold day in London.  Can't see definitively who the piano player is in this film, but I'm guessing Billy Preston.

From the official notes on YouTube:
"By the time that fateful Thursday came around, [the day this was recorded] the penultimate day of January would be the last time The Beatles ever played together in front of any kind of audience."
"Nobody ever loved me like she does."

If I had a nickel for every time I've had that thought about a woman ....

The audiences are as much to blame as the industry.  If the consumers were not content to hear mass-produced pablum on repeat on a corporate radio format - if we'd support local and/or independent radio - if we'd support local artists - well, you know I'm preaching to the choir typing this here, but RP listeners really aren't indicative of your average music consumer, and if you doubt that, click here.

Thanks, romeo. Totally validates this as being one of my very most favorite Beatles masterworks. {#Arrowd} "J.W.O. Lennon, Misery Expert," indeed! LMAO

Or do we blame the lack of variety on a recording industry that prefers generating new versions of the same tripe because that's what sells records?

I blame the recording industry, for sure. It's about sales and money for them, and not about creative expression. Same with the film and TV industries (I can't believe there's a remake of "La Femme Nikita," which was a series based on the original Luc Besson movie "Nikita."  Shows how little imagination the "industries' have.)

There are precious few groups/individuals who can show versatility. I don't even look for it anymore - if a song moves me, I'm happy. If I can sing alternate lyrics to the same tune, or if I can hum an already-recorded song to the lyrics, I yawn and switch to Neopets or my ever-difficult spreadsheets.

Geez, I think I just depressed myself.

John's vocals are reminiscent of "Twist and Shout."  Raw and soulful.  John, you are missed!

Oh, John...
Not my favourite Beatles piece but it's interesting how you can feel the frustration and pain in Lennon's voice.

Love this. It sounds so pure.
Such a great song. Glad they added it to the "Naked" version of "Let it Be". Great vocals from John.

Just like a "cancer", against music, against artists, against music lovers, with exercise of rights or not, these bad attitudes, to prevent the viewing of short excerpts of historical documents, are against an entire musical community, and people will have this in mind when they see the seal these labels on the products they promote.

...invited by George to try to keep the infighting at bay.

Their new studio, designed by wiz-kid (not!) Magic Alex, was a fiasco. John's attention was fully on Yoko, who proved to be intrusive in the lives of the rest of the group. There were also legal battles going on; Paul wanting the Eastmans to come in, the other three wanting to cast their lot with "disaster-in-the making" Allen Klein.
