No phone No phone,
I just want to be alone today
No phone no phone
Ringing stinging,
Jerking like a nervous bird
Rattling up against his cage
Calls to me throughout the day
See the feathers fly

No phone No phone
I just want to be alone today
No phone No phone
No phone no phone
I just want to be alone today

Rhyming chiming got me working all the time
Gives me such a worried mind
Now I don't want to seem unkind
But god, it's such a crime

No phone No phone
I just want to be alone today
No phone no phone
No phone No phone
I just want to be alone today
No phone no phone...

Shaking quaking, waking me when I'm asleep
Never lets me go too deep
Summons me with just one beep
The price we pay is steep

I've been on fire and yet I've still stayed frozen
So deep in the night
My smooth contemplations will always be broken
My deepest concerns will stay buried and unspoken
No I don't have any change but here's a few subway tokens

No phone No phone
I just want to be alone today
No phone No phone
No phone no phone
I just want to be alone today
No phone no phone
No phone No phone
I just want to be alone today
No phone No phone

Heard this in concert the other day, and well it did jump a good bit in my eyes. Granted I didn't really care for the minutes of crowd singing 'No Phone' at the end, and that is the same reason this is my least favroite CAKE song, but they sure were rocking for the first 2 1/2 minutes or so. Up from a 5 to a 7

I honestly think this is the worst Cake song I've ever heard. I usually love almost all of their stuff, but this one makes me change the channel every time.
AGREED! They still have that cool Cake sound, but this one doesn't quite do it. Saw them in Hollywood a couple of months ago, and they ended their show with this one (before the encores). Didn't exactly work live either. BUT, it was a great show overall. These guys are just plain unique. B
Pity you cannot not have your Cake and it....
Gary Numan?
Hey, a Cake I like!

Been listening to this CD since it came out and this is by far the worst one on the disc. Carbon Monoxide, or Dime or She'll Hang the Baskets, or Guitar Man, any number of them are soooooo much better. But I have to say that I still love RP for playing Cake!!!!

Really? I think Carbon Monoxide is super lame. The others you mentioned are good, though.

I tried to be very objective but I think not as well (taken in consideration that I don't know their first album) And this coming wednesday I'm gonna see 'em live!! 8)
What is this horrible noise coming out of my speakers?

I should be grateful that my 6 year old's musical taste goes beyond Hillary Duff, but I just can't share her enthusiasm for this song.
Cool right out of the press...AWSOME!
mmm, Cake.
