They protect me, listen to me
They dug me my very own garden
Gave me sunshine, made me happy
Nice dream, nice dream
Nice dream
I call up my friend, the good angel
But she's out with her answerphone
She says she would love to come help but
The sea would electrocute us all
Nice dream, nice dream
Nice dream, nice dream
Nice dream, nice dream

RP and RH caught me at the right moment. I'm gonna do something I've never done when hearing RH. I'm bumping it to an 8. Really good tune. Alert the media.
LOL - I've "been there, done that" - in fact somewhere along the line I've gone +1 to 9 even. I've also found the youtuber 'Key of Geebz' aka 'the Decomposer' has done some informative reactions to a lot of RH's stuff, and that has helped me realize the genius of RH's music too. LLRP!!
My 33 year old son is a huge radiohead fan. But says “fucking hate The Bends” Sent me a video of him throwing his copy into a dumpster. Expecting me to get upset. My husband and I love it! So there ya go, to each his own!
Has he ever actually suffered from the bends? This might be a reaction to some lingering trauma.
Great band, too bad they have a whiney little bitch on lead vocals.
"Not so keen on them", but still a 10. I wonder where the rating scale of the Bristol office ends.
Not so keen on their newer material, I meant. My scale ends in the same place as everyone else's. Facetious...

what a strong character your son has
I can still remember the first time I heard this album. Changed everything for me, musically. Not so keen on them now, though. This still gets a 10, though, from the Bristol office.

The Bends is an awesome album. i prefer the 'singable' early Radiohead to the more recent work.
I keep hearing "Ice Cream, Ice Cream" - I must be hungry for some Cold Stone Creamery.
I think I hear "My string" must be a developer twitch!

If you like Radiohead, look for Kino, a Russian band from the 80's. Pretty sure Radiohead did since their subsequent work sounds too similar to be mere coincidence. Kino didn't get much exposure in the West but was Russia's most popular band at the time.
I'm aware that Kino's singer is a baritone, while Thom Yorke is not. Listen to the guitars and arrangement. Could be my imagination but I don't think so.
Actually it's why the PSD button was invented.
must try harder .... just sayin
I think this is the best guitar album ever. I actually like it better than OK Computer. Shoot me.
What am I understanding?
must try harder .... just sayin
I'm going to 8 on this RH track...now I'm above the average rating on a 2nd RH tune....who knew I'd turn into an RH fan? Props to BnR for all the subtlety in the playlist and giving me a chance to grow in my musical likes. Long Live RP!!
+1 to 9...LLRP!!
Feel sorry for you. Really.
I guess if you're normally abnormal then normal is...abnormal.....this is one of my fav RH tunes on RP...as the first half has a Beach Boys sound to me ("Don't Worry Baby" maybe?) - Long Live RP!!

I tend to appreciate artists who strive to deviate from "normal" things in music (structure, chord changes, lyrics, etc.). "Normal" music, (e.g. The Eagles, Tom Petty) often doesn't interest me as much. I'm not a huge fan of Radiohead but this is a good tune, even if it is relatively "normal" for them.

I'm exactly one year younger than you and I love these guys. Especially this album. Age had nothing to do with it.
I hope.
I heard the word, however I cannot believe that Tom Yorke has ever used the word "happy" in his life. I am confused. The world has become even more unpredictable, Trump, Yorke,...where will it end ?
Based on your comment I'd say you might want to educate yourself Re: Tom Yorke before making further comments regarding said Mr. Yorke..

Enjoy it, my friend. It's the best there is.
i finally ordered The Bends and Ok Computer today
i'm gonna have to get this cd

Gotta close RP now so i can go listen to that album.
Oh, and the song is just plain Outstanding.
Are we sure this is Radiohead?
I coughed up a 6 for this track..."pretty good" as they say.
I didn't for the longest time. It took me forever to get past Yorke's whine--and it is a whine, to appreciate that they are one hell of a band.
Wow. I guess I'm f'd, then, since I have abominated a few times on RH cuts, although I wouldn't and haven't PSD'd on this cut, if that helps keep me from the pit of hell for the tasteless excommunicated. Yorke didn't seem to be marinating in off-key existential angst.
Well than, I'll see you in hell.
The PSD button should be disabled for Radiohead songs. To hit PSD on a Radiohead song is an abomination and should result in excommunication automatica from RP.
....... totally agree
Hey, stop trying. They're like gaining enlightenment; you'll never get it until you "get it."
Best reply to a comment ever!!!

Everybody in my church loves this song...
Brilliant, underrated song. 10

I'm sure Bill is reading this dribble and laughing his ass off.
"Hey Rebecca....get a load of this shit"
BTW....I love this song....and I don't think they are faking the emotion in this song.
For what it is worth.
The word is "drivel".
I don't completely disagree with you, but before you race to conclusions about how it might be perceived, read the RP rules of engagement, particularly the one that says "play nice".

oh yes, cute emoticons and acronyms for "fuck" sure do indicate adulthood! (no offense, bosami)
i stand corrected, oh great and wise butterfly.
That was sarcasm without namecalling. Works fine.
And I still think that Radiohead are a bunch of fakes.
See how adults express their views, Wrangler?

hey internet tough guy - indicating that you're trolling the forum is not name-calling. i'm simply pointing out that you apparently have nothing better to do with your life than hang out on the internet and call radiohead a bunch of fakes, which ironically enough sounds an awful lot like name-calling.................
And you must have been asleep when they were teaching debate, wherein you should have learned that it's ok to apply pejoratives to the subject of the debate ... not your opponent.
If you want to call people names, try the Fox "News" comments pages or your local schoolyard.
Ooh, we have a stubborn one here.
Namecalling places the intellectual age at roughtly, um, twelve.

Yes. And hopefully before the world ends in 2012. I can't wait for that. What other predictions do you have oh great Nostradamus? Hmm? Please wow us some more.
Leave the Mayans out of this, Einstein.
Nope ... and sooner or later they'll be proven to be The Big Lie.

Yeah, you can sure tell how fake and insincere these guys are.
wtf?

Quelle surprise —- another namecalling Radiohead fan. Grow up.

so says the tool with the iron butterfly quote
This song is soooo gooood for the ears...
Is this like a reverse troll or something? It's starting to seem insincere...

I think its an astronaut in training in a centrifuge machine
Good summation. I enjoy some Radiohead, but there's something about PT that really grabs me. Hard to get too much PT in my opinion.
I always thought it looked like an android, getting. . . um, uh, you know. . . .
or enjoying himself a bit too much!
I'm dreaming some other dream.
The reissues of their first three CD's (despite the fact that Capital is still cashing in on the back catalogue like mad), are very tasty...
ooooooooh..............ooooooooh............uuuuuhn.......
THAT!

Wow. You couldn't be more wrong. I think the word you want is stupendous!
Yea, that individual meant to say STUPENDOUS. One of their best songs, off maybe their second best record.
Wow. You couldn't be more wrong. I think the word you want is stupendous!
Horrendously wonderful, boy that was a mouth full!
