Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' for adventure
In whatever comes our way
Yeah, darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once and
Explode into space
I like smoke and lightnin'
Heavy metal thunder
Racin' with the wind
And the feelin' that I'm under
Yeah, darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once and
Explode into space
Like a true nature's child
We were born, born to be wild
We can climb so high
I never wanna die
Born to be wild
Born to be wild
Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' for adventure
In whatever comes our way
Yeah, darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace

another song that has been played to death and beyond.
I worked with John Kay 5 or 6 times in the late '80s. He still looked & sounded great!! He never drank or did drugs & it showed. He was real pleasant to work with!!
Nicholson's best performance ever.
When you start to get sick of him he kicks the bucket.
Easy rides easy goes.

Highly underrated band, so much more to them than just this song.

This movie is epic. Made Jack Nicholson a star.

Would someone please explain how Goldy McJohn was able to synchronize the organ's Leslie speaker to the rhythm of this song? I've always been fascinated by that - is it easy to do, or is it technical prowess? Should I be in awe, or just say awww...? Regardless, it's a cool effect.

Maybe the best rock & roll song ever recorded. It has all the elements and energy. My band still plays it and gets a great reaction evey time. They are still touring and Kay's quality of sound is better than anybody that I've heard lately.

a guilty pleasure. tnx for playing the original instead of the poorly done annoying fatboy slim cover.

I love it! I was 13 when this came out! I bought the 45. Thanx RP!
Classic tune! ICONIC! I worked audio production with John Kay for 3 shows during the mid & late 80s. He was great! He was in great shape, sounded and looked great! ...probably from living the "good life"! He didn't drink or do drugs!
Been there, done that.... and I ain't never comin' back
too young to live it. had a smoke to feel it. nice.
Thanks Bill, it's my B'day and you're making it way better!!
A great take-me -back machine!
Great song, but Born To Be Wild is maybe best not played until after a peaceful Inauguration?
Rev it up and let’s hit that open road Bro✌️
2 Nights ago I played the Analouge Productions SACD. It sounds AMAZING.

It's mind-blowing how much great music came out the year I was born - 1968. Thank you Radio Paradise for teaching me that. It happens a lot it seems, I'll hear some groovy song or just an old song I like and so often it's 1968! What say you Bill, does 68 win for the most great music released in one year?
This song, I think, will always be remembered as an anthem of the era. Then again no one has any idea about what people will like in the future.
Long Live Radio Paradise
TY Steppenwolf for Born To Be Wild is 9 -OUTSTANDING to me

BAAAD for the EARS!!! Why? Seems songs like this that force a 9 rating, ALSO force me to turn up the volume to match....
Those "10" ratings have just about made me deaf by now... And this is at least a "9"..

What? Are you saying that Radio Paradise was not Born To Be Wild? Where else are you going to hear wild music from around the world? Thanks to B&R for bringing RP to life.........

Every time I go on my motorcycle I have this song running in my head
A perfect track for the (nearly....) end of the work week....I just might have to crank it to an 11 in my truck on my drive home. (and 11 is about 1/2 as loud as my system gets....still need to be able to hear when I get home ;-)
Long Live RP!!

Impossible to hear this song and not picture motorcycles on the road - Harleys specifially - and yet there isn't a word about motorcycles in it.
lost for words - no the song says it all

I've always loved how the organ, the guitar, and the vocals of this band are TOTALLY CRANKED on this wild and crazy ride of a song!

Even when this came out it was pretty thin music. Then, again, I still haven't gotten around to see the movie.......

Easy Rider to go!
If I had to describe in just one song what Radio Paradise is not, this is it.
THE quintessential motorcycle song - but very well worn...
sucko-barfo ...I couldn't have said it any better.. Neither 'intelligent 'OR 'eclectic' guys... If I wanted this crap I could just stay tuned to my local Clear Channel Classic Rock station!
Not necessary. Play sparingly.
Even when this came out it was pretty thin music. Then, again, I still haven't gotten around to see the movie.......
classic three cord special !!

Just get into the bass line, and work from there.
One of the great anthems of rock.
Who cares how much it's been played. Instant HIGH everytime I hear it!
that was a fun set....Thanks
not that this is bad by any means, but definitely way overplayed everywhere - I would love to hear some of their non-hit-single tracks though...
"Dont Step on the Grass, Sam"
"Disappointment Number (Unknown)"
--- actually just about anything else off of Steppenwolf The Second would be fantastic!
I'm pretty well burned out on this song, but I didn't have the heart to give it any less than an 8.
"Booooooorn to be wiiiiiiiiiiild...."

Ok. another guilty pleasure. i didn\'t comment on my unintellectual sneaky nostalgic glee at hearing Billy Idol (the good thing is i only hear him a very little bit on RP) - but this was old even when i was younger, and i still liked it...
