It's you that I adore
You'll always be my whore
You'll be a mother to my child
And a child to my heart
We must never be apart
We must never be apart

Lovely girl you're the beauty in my world
Without you there are no reasons left to find

And I'll pull your crooked teeth
You'll be perfect just like me
You'll be a lover in my bed
And a gun to my head
We must never be apart
We must never be apart

Lovely girl you're the murder in my world
Dressing coffins for the souls I've left to die
Drinking mercury
To the mystery
Of all that you should ever leave behind
In time

In you I see dirty
In you I count stars
In you I feel so pretty
In you I taste god
In you I feel so hungry
In you I crash cars
We must never be apart

Drinking mercury
To the mystery
Of all that you should ever seek to find
Lovely girl you're the murder in my world
Dressing coffins for the souls I've left behind
In time

We must never be apart

And you'll always be my whore
'Cause you're the one that I adore
And I'll pull your crooked teeth
You'll be perfect just like me
In you I feel so dirty in you I crash cars
In you I feel so pretty in you I taste god
We must never be apart

And I was thinking it was a mannish Sinead O'Connor!

I'm at an 8 on this one, not sure when I rated it though it is one of the highest I've rated a SP tune....so Long Live RP and SP!!
Only tune I really like from them.
This song deserves to reappear on Radio Paradise. Just sayin'.

Yeah, I'm comparing Billy Corgan and Bob Dylan. Neither is a great singer, but both were very popular. Sue me.

You forgot that both are wonderful songwriters and (to varying degrees - one being infinitely and one being very) influential artists.
Smashing Pumpkins... no.
Great and it's true that we must never be apart.

Interesting:

In German-speaking countries it is more often used by youth as slang term meaning something along the lines of 'cool' or 'awesome'. An equivalent is American usage of the word 'mad' or 'bitchin' to describe something ecstatic. Its meaning developed from sexually aroused (since the 15th century) over sexually attractive in the 1970s and 1980s to attractive in general. Today "to be 'geil'" has lost its offensive character nearly completely. "Geil" is now only sexually explicit in the phrase "to make someone 'geil'" (= to make someone horny)

In dutch it means "too be horny" too, but it doesn't mean 'cool' or 'awesome'. We laugh a little when we here germans use this slang. ;-)

I am having the same problem. That is a strong groove though, when he is not singing I kinda dig it.
GEIL!
Old school teen angst. Sometimes it feels good to be pissed. {#Grumpy}
One of my favorite albums.

I think a lot of the Pumpkins music is under rated. They are one of the few bands from the 90s who I feel will have a lasting legacy and influence on the future of music.

I totally agree with you. My brother is a classically trained musician and he always says that although he's not a big fan of the band, he has an appreciation for their music because from a music theory standpoint, there is a lot of layering and complexity in it. I don't know beans about music theory, so I'll take his word for it.

Sorry Mr. Not-Enough Talent?

I'm not very familiar with their music, but this is pretty good.

"Adore" is excellent.
Up to nine just for the drums. Watched a YouTube video of them performing this live on some tv show, and it was awesome. If I can find it again I'll post a link.
Very nice!!

NICE!  Haven't heard this in years!

Oh fond memories of High School!

This was a very good album. A lot of quieter stuff, but this one and Stand Inside Your Love were great rockers.

Pure genius, another great find on the RP ...
movin' to this one.....
never heard this before.... (yeah, I know!  `where have YOU been?!!), but it's great !!!!

This is my favorite SP's song.

I guess if you like a disco beat with your Pumpkins, you'll love this.

I really don't get it, who decided the Smashing Pumpkins had any talent or ability. Not me. Sorry, just don't get it.

I'm glad they're back and all....but I did kinda like Zwan.

Not really. Adore was a pretty underrated CD, probably b/c it was so different from the rest of their stuff. Bands will change just like anything else, just some people want them to keep producing the same-sounding stuff over and over. I love every CD by the pumpkins, and Adore is no different. Saw them play a while ago, although they have a new name that I can't remember now, and they only play small venues (and of course they sell out right away). Gotta love the pumpkins!
Cool song and cool video... can be found on their videos DVD... Highlight of their changing work at the time, where a bit of electronics were mixed in with the rock...
I've never owned an SP album, or even heard very much of their music at all, yet from the first words of the vocals I knew it was them ----- says something for Corgan.
Love the Pumpkins, and I agree, this is a highly underrated song by the band.
I'm proud to be the first listener to give this classic from one of the most underrated works from the Pumpkins a "10". I'm still waiting for any band from the naughts to have the presence of 90s performers like SP.
Appropriately referred to as a "BOINK" tune...
Nothing after \"Mellon Collie...\" worth while.
I loved this song when it came out. For whatever reason this album seemed to mark the end of the Pumpkins. I\'m not sure why it wasn\'t well received. Sure the video was creepy but cool. Anyway, I still enjoy hearing this tune...
Kick Ass!
This guy\'s voice grates on my nerves, but otherwise I like the tune just fine.
