A 10 for me all day. I particularly love the organ which comes in with the second verse. And that initial note which is held until Roger sings 'government' and the subsequent notes which come after. Just a small snippet of musical beauty in a brilliant song.

This used to be true for me, but I believe I may have heard the album and watched the movie too many times. Listening too much may be why this album hasn't aged well for me. I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan and this used to be my favorite album for years, so I feel like a heretic in saying this hasn't aged well for me, but that's what happened. Earlier Pink Floyd than The Wall, however, remains timeless for me!

It was amazing, how we used to serenade each other with this and other songs off of this epic record... There had been nothing quite like it before, and nothing has come along like it since... We didn't feel inclined to over-analyze it, for it was clearly and cleverly the morphed psychoanalyses of actual people -- Syd Barett and Roger Waters -- and we celebrated and worshipped it even more as such.

Hey Bill, thanks for redeeming this album for me. I got SO burned out on it by about 1981 and have avoided songs from it. But you're easing me back into it. I bumped this from a 3 to a 6. Kind of nice to have this album back.
