Such a beautiful version of this song, more uplifting than Warren Zevon's, which was a tad dirge-like. And, being sung by a woman this time, gives a different sense of enlightenment to mum's and dad's feelings. Lovely and sensitive, where Warren's was maybe a little too knowing and formal.

RP is so awesome for music lovers and for sound quality, artistry and inclusion of women in the playlist. WHY do so many Comments on women artists revolve around COMPARING TO SOMEONE ELSE and who she SOUNDS JUST LIKE? Are ya'll tone deaf to women's voices and unique artistry? just saw the album title - partnering with the ‘Dudes now makes sense. Saw the Subdudes at Jimmy’s in NO decades ago just as they got started rolling and I couldn’t come down off the high for a couple days (took a day or two longer for my hearing to return to normal)

Yes, that is the Subdudes with Shawn Colvin on this song. I have RP on for background music today, and somewhere near the end of this song, I finally noticed the characteristic Subdudes sound here.

Played Excitable Boy recently on vinyl again. Wow.
Warren Zevon at his very weirdly best. Tenderness on the Block is a great song.
This is a pretty good version - with a country twist.

Not one of Warren\'s best and while it is delivered sweetly and purely by Colvin, this song ends up as being merely okay. The backing chorus set my teeth on edge - MOR radio here we go .... :oops:
