Hell, yes!
Too many intas. Still gave it a 7.
Hire the intern?  Good song...
Thanks, RP, for yet another great intro. Check out the live version of this on Youtube/

The name of the song translates as "You're my animal/beast".   The punch line in the song is "and I'm your animal".  Racy stuff in Arabic.

Love Ms Atlas, who is the epitome of funky (and good) cross cultural fusion.

From my limited knowledge, Hayat means is life.
I am generally receptive to various musical genres, but this seems kind of blah to me. Had to give it a 4.
I was going to give it a 2 but then gave it a 1 anyway because of how seriously awful it is.

, dear friend with an Arabic sounding name...

I was going to say.... Hayawanat means animals not Hayati

Nice version of Stevie Wonder's Higher Ground!

...with an entirely different melody and chord progression.
A little too- muezzin sounding for a second - had to lower volume. Not bad, just a little too...too for the moment.
"....until I reach the Highest Ground!!!!!!!"
the lonely intern?
why are you the intern?

whatever. still catchy.
Lyrics needed. Partial translation in comments indicates they might be interesting. And is that jazzy accordion? Didn’t know that’s Arabian. The background rhythm track could be a bit more varied. Thanks Bill for make a listen at RP interesting.

In corndog hell, do they always run out of ketchup? Or is it even worse than that?

Corndog hell makes you put ketchup on corndogs because there is no mustard.
its like dancing inside of water

One of the reasons I came over to RP was the loss of The Loft on SiriusXM. When you play good eclectic blends, including great global, I am actually glad SiriusXM screwed up! Late on a Friday afternoon, this one has me perked up, dancing, glad.
What the hell is this ? XD

WHUTTIN' CORNDOG HELL
That's a wonderful percussionist playing some sort of hand drum behind the vocals and lead instruments.

Now I can't hear anything else in this!

Can't resist adding the first comment... at least on the eclectic mix.  One of the reasons RP is my favourite go-to station is the global mix, like I'm getting on the eclectic mix right now!  Thanks so much for playing Natacha Atlas and so so much more.
