Run away with me
Lost souls and reverie
Running wild and running free
Two kids, you and me
And I say
Hey, hey hey hey
Living like we're renegades
Hey hey hey
Hey hey hey
Living like we're renegades
Renegades, renegades
Long live the pioneers
Rebels and mutineers
Go forth and have no fear
Come close the end is near
And I say hey, hey hey hey
Living like we're renegades
Hey hey hey
Hey hey hey
Living like we're renegades
Renegades, renegades
All hail the underdogs
All hail the new kids
All hail the outlaws
Spielberg's and Kubrick's
It's our time to make a move
It's our time to make amends
It's our time to break the rules
Let's begin
And I say hey, hey hey hey
Living like we're renegades
Hey hey hey
Hey hey hey
Leaving like we're renegades
Renegades, renegades

Glad I have never owned a TV in all my adult life.
I can enjoy this song just fine as it is.

(UnPlug the Idiot Box folks.)
is it deja vu or did this play just yesterday?
Guilty pleasure

Not possible to be 'watching too much TV.' ;)
Problem is thinking that TV is all there is.

Any TV is too much TV.  I prefer music and books, not that garbage.

+1 for referencing Stanley Kubrick.
Musical dryer lint...(and I was being generous with the musical part)...

Is Meh a new pronoun that I'm not aware of?

Lately it seems like there are a lot of songs with the same "hey, hey, hey" chorus, clapping and the odd HEY!

Is it the Fleet Foxes that started it, or who?
Trends are strange things - I find a marked similarity with many current female vocalists. Unfortunately I tend to notice these things when they are not to my own taste. I guess that can be reversed in that you don't notice things within your own (boring?) comfort zone? That's where RP scores in jolting me out of my rut - perhaps!

I thought that was the whole point of RP ... to not commit to any style but rather show us a variety of music without offending our ears. I'll say that X Ambassadors is an amazing group to watch live. The blind keyboard player Casey is 10/10!

Occasional ear offense is even part of the style! I've heard "Like a Virgin" and all kinds of other "not your style" songs here. It adds to the entertainment.

If everyone is a renegade then no one is a renegade
A catchy, likable tune, though I don't care much for the over-processed, cut-and-paste production/post-production nowadays.
Why not just take a song for what you might hear or identify with the lyrics. Sheesh.
No sir I don't like it

try to catch them on 'Guitar Center Sessions', this is not their best

Unfortunately the link to the {boring} car commercial for the {boring} Jeep means that it's 'played' too much and suffers from it.
Underneath it all is a catchy song.
About the only car commercial that didn't destroy a song was the Verve's 'Bittersweet Symphony' which just cannot be played too much (along with much of the Radiohead and Portishead back catalogues!)

Chevy Trucks using Bob Seger's "Like a Rock" for over a decade has to be the most over "commercialized" song  in TV ads.    This was back in the late 80's into the 90's
Strip away the added 'heys and moans' and... you still a mediocre effort.
To be tossed upon the Hipster Crap Pile and be instantly forgotten

Can't stand the fake clapping and stomping.

Agreed!  This thing has been played CONTINOUSLY for 2 solid years here in Chi. on WXRT, as they refuse to file it away.

It's not as bad as that Cold War Kids song they have also been constantly shoving down our throats since early 2015 ("First"), BUT IT'S CLOSE!

Whatever.
Who cares if Jeep used it for a commercial.

A good song is a good song.

BTW, if you can track down the Youtube of these guys with Tom Morello from Rage on guitar (think it was Kimmel) it is a mindblower.

You're right! Inspiring. Thank you to share. {#Daisy}
The sibilance on this 'vinyl' is gonna hurt your ears.
This ChicChicagoChick witnessed this X Ambassadors band ~live~ on Saturday, here at Lollapalooza Chicago 2016--> magnificent/mesmerizing/mystical/magical musical mayhem...! ♡♡♡
I don't watch live TV so I've never seen the commercial. But now that you mentioned it, this song does have that generic, soulless ad-man quality to it.
I own a Jeep Renegade because of this song!

Okay, I didn't buy it because of the song. But I like it. (The Jeep and the song) {#Wall}
I like this track more with each playing. 4 ~> 7

It helps that I mute TV commercials, so it doesn't get heard very often ;)

If a song I like from a band I like gets used in a commercial, that means that artists I like who are trying to make a living by creating music are getting compensated for creating music.  That's a good thing.  I'm happy for them.

I wholeheartedly agree {#Cool}
Lighten up, it is a great song on its own even if used in a commercial.  Nothing wrong with a really good pop song, this is a station of varied tastes and styles, so glad you are playing it.  A good song is a good song!

I really enjoy the song...until they claim Spielberg to be a renegade, in the same category as Kubrick.

Uh-uh. I don't care if it has the right number of syllables. You lost me.
