Be true or be gone
You're only fooling yourself
Open hand or not
You are holding out
But there is no light that you can't live in
Tear it apart
Your old confession made in the dark
Now every hour, change of heart
You're running away
But the shadow is yours
Cover all your steps
One day I know they will be tried
No deception left
And now even you might realize
That there is no lie that you can live in
Tear it apart
Your own confession
Made in the dark
Now every hour
Change of heart
You're running away
But the shadow is your own, your own
One day when it finds you, take it to heart
You can't run away
When you know that the tall, tall shadow
Tall tall shadow
The tall tall shadow
Tall tall shadow
Is yours
No, there is no lie that you can live in
Tear it apart
Your own confession
Made in the dark
Now every hour, change of heart
You're running away
But the shadow is your own, your own
One day when it finds you
Take it to heart
You can't run away when you know
That the tall tall shadow
Tall tall shadow
The tall tall shadow
Tall tall shadow
The tall tall shadow
Tall tall shadow
The tall tall shadow
Tall tall shadow
You know the tall tall shadow
Tall tall shadow
The tall tall shadow
Tall tall shadow is yours
You can't run away
If the shadow is yours
You can't run away
When the shadow is yours
You can't run away
No you can't run away
If the shadow is yours

Ahhhh...my fellow Canuck. What a lovely voice!
there goes

To me this is 7 - Quite Likeable
Great one) Really cool song)
Saw her at the NAC in Ottawa.
Not to be missed!

dynamite voice  : )
Most catchy. A good wish-to-sing-out-loud-but-am-in-cube song. Could be made more eerie. Eerier?
Turned up the volume to maximum - *gonna annoy the next cubey*. No worries, they like it too..{#Crowded}
I think she was in Ottawa and I missed her. Not the next time!

wiki says she is known for playing the autoharp
how about some of that

Her new album "Good advice" just released three months ago...maybe some from that or live tracks.

Check out Basia Bulat Live at Massey Hall on Youtube. She shows off her vocals thoroughly. Even tho the performance is a bit raw, or indulgent, it is powerful and heartfelt. If you like the somewhat uneven and sterile studio tracks a little, you will like the concert a lot.
Her vocal style reminds me of Tracy Chapman. Thought it was her for a split second there.

Exactly what I was thinking! {#Roflol}
Still an okay song, though.

Me too. I was thinking it was about a cowboy with a superiority complex or something.

She's great live too!  Worth seeing.

Couldn't agree more.  Basia opened for Daniel Lanois here earlier this year, both of them accompanied by a full orchestra.  Magical night.  Basia is a true talent.

Thankful for introduction to this artist and many, many others!

Nice. BB has come into her own more and more with her albums, including this sadly-inspired substitute. I enjoy seeing (hearing) an artist like her develop so well.
Damnit Bill, this is one thoughtful play-list.
Basher Bulat, Bill makes her sound like the school bully, gimme ya dinner money  {#Cheesygrin}
And the playlist just gets longer and longer...

Thanks, Bill!
Potentially interesting  {#Music}
