Mama, cold hearted child, tell me how you feel
Just a blade in the grass, spoke unto the wheel
Mama, cold hearted child, tell me where it's all gone
All the luster of your bones, those arms that held you strong

I've been worryin' that my time is a little unclear
I've been worryin' that I'm losing the ones I hold dear
I've been worryin' that we all, live our lives, in the confines of fear

Mama, cold hearted child, tell me how you feel
Just a grain in the morning air, dark shadow on the hill
Mama, cold hearted child, tell me where it all falls
All this apathy you feel will make a fool of us all

I've been worryin' that my time is a little unclear
I've been worryin' that I'm losing the ones I hold dear
I've been worryin' that we all, live our lives, in the confines of fear

Oh I will become what I deserve
Oh I will become what I deserve
Oh I will become what I deserve
Oh I will become what I deserve

I've been worryin', I've been worryin',
I will become what I deserve
I've been worryin',
My time is a little unclear
I will become what I deserve

I've been worryin', I've been worryin'
That my time is a little unclear
I've been worryin', I've been worryin'
That I'm losing the ones I hold dear
I've been worryin', I've been worryin'
That we all, live our lives, in the confines of fear

This track is very good but my son is very into Ben Howard and plays it constantly ast high volume and after two tracks I am ready to dive headlong out of the window! He may be a local hero but man it's so depressing...

I hear you, but don't complain!! It could be much, much worse! Imagine all the nasty stuff your son could play at high volume! It could be up-beat and hollow.
Try to play Suzanne Vega's Solitude Standing album to him :-)

P.S. Are you sure your son doesn't actually want the place for himself? Do not jump out the window ;-)
I've been worrying too... that this tune wouldn't end.
I agree, I heard Chapman during the intro...
Saw him live a few months ago. Unfortunately he doesn't play his old songs anymore but just his new album which is completely different. Great performance though! Never get tired of listening to his music.

I'm with you on this. His new work is good, but it just doesn't let up. So gloomy and dark...

Lacks any soul.

Were you expecting Pavarotti?  For just this song, or for every song?  Maybe you should check out Radio Pavarotti (the *other* RP).

Love this comment! Made me laugh a lot.

This artist is currently blowing my mind. I only recently began focusing in when his songs come up on RP, and my appreciation of his lyrical power grows with each listen.,
I'm concerned though, that his very unique voice and style, both of which seem extraordinary to me now, will end up sounding tiresome after a while. Would any long time fans of Ben Howard care to comment on that?
Thanks.

Not as annoying as your constant complaining.  Why do you stay?  Do you enjoy listening to music you don't enjoy listening to?

Nice one!  Maybe they should try Pandora w/ those annoying commercials and crappy, crap.

The good part is that UPS would not be charging much to ship that package.

He and Frazey Ford could duet like nobody's business.
I agree, I can't stand his voice too. One of the most overrated artists of recent times.

Exactly what I thought. My ears cannot handle either of the two.

Or Ray LaMontagne
Well bugger me if I ain't just about ready to dance through Lazarus' bizarre church.  This mix is off the hook this arvo.  (P.S. I love out of date slang.)

this song gets stuck in my head and I can't shut it off...others like it much more than I
Well, I logged on to see who was playing, so thats how good I rated it!
The guitar reminds me a little of Xavier Rudd
I didn't know Ben Howard was THAT good!
I find this grating...more so with every play
Does sound like Tracy Chapman

Boy band without the band.

Very very boring song - and SO generic - I simply do not believe him -3

Bought the album - L-O-V-E it!!! Recommendations if you liked the song - the album is slightly more calm, but still, really underrespresented so far. None of my music crazy friends knew it... Wonder why {#Think}

Yes, really like the album. "The Fear" was a number 1 hit in Belgium. Always reminds me a bit of Hothouse Flowers. Check also his "Burgh Island EP", sounds a little darker but great music. In same league as Tom Odell in terms of popularity with teengirls over here ;)

I had to double  check my self, I thought it was Tracey Chapman.
Good Stuff. Immediate 7, leaving room to grow.

That is one cool guitar lick in this song...  I like that quirky melody...  the lyrics are interesting and emotive...  this song gets a big 10 rating on my first listen...

This is awful.

Yes Bill, you finally started playing Ben Howard!!

This album is amazing in its entirety as is his more recent EP.
