I only tuned into RP during the last 45 seconds or so of this cut, but having worked on a documentary about the history of Appalachia, I can attest that there are indeed some Appalachian sounds in it, especially the dominant violin melody at the end.

As for violins, all violins are fiddles but not all fiddles are violins.

Isn't that reversed; all fiddles are violins, but not all violins are fiddles? The meaning being in the style of play?

I'm always impressed to find music here on PR that Spotify has not discovered. This is why I listen.
I enjoyed it alot, thank you universe

This is good but it is in no way related to bluegrass in any way shape of form.  Those are violins not fiddles.

A distinction without any meaningful difference.

You're right; this has almost nothing connecting it to bluegrass or "Appalachistan".  I like it, though.

Gangstagrass does have the Appalachia influence, however.
I m writing a comment "what would Harry Manx" say about this, when who comes on but Harry Manx, the Hindu Blues man extrodinaire. Thanks RP for your diverse universe. Keep mixing it up.

Hailing from Appalachia, I can personally attest to the music from at least my corner of that area.  It sounds nothing like this.

That doesn't mean it's any better...  just not like this.

Keep in mind, Athens, Ohio has never, to my knowledge, produced any famous musicians.  Except perhaps The Rarely Herd and Red Wanting Blue.  But neither of them would make it here, or even commercial radio for that matter and clear channel will play any crap.

Even though not from Athens... lets not forget Jorma!

Hindugrass?
One of the many new law-abiding drugs?
In my book Hindugrass is from KERALA
or Jammu & Kashmir - not the BLUE MOUNTAINS!
Holy shit!  Poppy fields in the Appalachians??

Sounds great, but a little too somnolent for me at this time of day (10 am where I am in the world).
Puts me in a happy place.
Sounds good. Reminds me a little of Jean Luc Ponty.
Love it - Ravi Shankar meets fiddling

Had this tune been a Beatles tune on 'Sgt Pepper's' it would have been rated a "9". Hmmm...

Lovely music. Yawn.

A bit repetitious but I like the sound.
great stuff
I came to check the comments board because for a moment there, I felt like I was listening to an acoustic version of a Mario Bros game theme song.

It is an interesting and effective mixture of styles.  I think one of the guys from this band teaches music at NCCU in Durham - or used to.

At first I thought this was Hayseed Dixie covering Van Halen's "Feel Your Love". My bad.
...i get it, it works, but i'm not sure if i like it...
From the "So Crazy That It Just Might Work" file.
As someone who lives in Appalachia proper... I gotta say this strangely fits!
There's NO WAY this should work, but it kinda' does! Fun.
What have we here? I thought it would be Harry Manx (one of my favorite performers) mixing eastern instruments with American blues. Appalachistan...this is pleasant!
Very interesting combination that seems to work. I like it.
