If a fiddler played you a song, my love
And if I gave you a wheel
Would you spin for my heart and loneliness
Would you spin for my love

If I gave up all of my pride for you
And only loved you for now
Would you hide my fears and never say
"Tomorrow I must go"

Everywhere there's rain my love
Everywhere there's fear

If you tell me a lie I'll cry for you
Tell me of sin and I'll laugh
If you tell me of all the pain you've had
I'll never smile again

Everywhere there's rain my love
Everywhere there's fear

I can plainly see that our parts have changed
Our sands are shifting around
Need I beg to you for one more day
To find our lonely love

Everywhere there's rain my love
Everywhere there's fear

Great song. Wish he'd done more.

He did a lot of great songs and albums even when dying at 28.
His son had not that chance.
If you knew how well this song fits my day right now. Thanks so much RP.

This version of Phantasmagoria is the worst one that he recorded; Tim's earlier recordings had no drums to interfere with his miraculous voice. Let's say that it is the processed cheese (Velveeta) whilst there is Swiss cheddar available.

Swiss cheddar..?

This LP changed this little 13 yr old girl's world. And today, it still gives this now little 64 yr old woman chills. {#Daisy}
Cool Bill!

Since John Peel is no longer around, which other radio station would play Tim Buckley's Phantasmagoria In Two?
I've said it here a thousand times...but it sure would be great to hear THE DOLPHIN SONG!

Always liked Buckley but, boy, the guitarist sounds like he's playing behind a different song entirely. Almost sounds like Sam Andrew, whose noodling disgraced several Janis Joplin tunes.

Personally I really like Lee Underwood's playing, but hey, to each his/her own.
An interesting article on Tim:

Blessed be they, up there.

Always happy to see another Tim Buckley song on RP.
"Once I Was" from the same album would be great.      Cheers! {#Cheers}

You read my mind I was just going to type exactly that... Not many people were brave and talented enough to go on the musical journey Tim Buckley did.

An incredible song. A great live version is also available on the "Dream Letter: Live in London" album.

This song has always made me think of a wintry street in Berkeley, leaves scattered and flattened against the sidewalk, vines bare of leaves twining over Arts & Crafts style arbors, a guy in a light jacket hunched shoulders against the cold, looking at me, waiting for my answer as to whether I'll join him for a hot cup of coffee in a nearby coffeehouse.  I love this song.
