When the desert sun has passed horizon's final light
and darkness takes it's place...
We will pause to take our rest.
Sharing songs of love,
tales of tragedy.

The souls of heaven
are stars at night.
They will guide us on our way,
until we meet again
another day.
When a poet sings the song and all are hypnotised,
enchanted by the sound...
We will mark the time as one,
tandem in the sun.
The rhythm of a hymn.

The souls of heaven
are stars at night.
They will guide us on our way,
until we meet again
another day.
When the dawn has come
sing the song,
all day long.

We will move as one,
bear the load
on the road.

The souls of heaven
turn to stars
every single night
all across the sky...
they shine.

Stunning and so Beautiful
More from them Please !!!@
My college roommate loved this song and introduced me to Camel. He never failed to enrich my life.
My first listen to this band. Quite nice and I immediately craved more. Any suggestions on where to begin with these guys?
over 50 years old . and still touring. only the Stones do those kind of crazy things.
This sounds so good.  Down tempo prog?

Will have to get Rajaz.
Today me thought oooh this is lovely, need to rate this so it's in my favourites. Yesterday me beat me to it
This feels like a cover of a Moody Blues song on which David Gilmour was a guest performer.

That's a shame, why not? Andy Latimer's work stands up to the test of time......if you like this genre.
I gave my love a chicken that had no feathers … Uggggggggg
I edited the 1969 Egyptian film "The Night of Counting the Years" to this song

The rest of the album is great. Similar to this track. If you like this check out their Snow Goose album. Great underrated band. Still going in a different form!

Yeah! How can they get away with that!  It's an exact copy of Pink Floyd!  Except for the voice.  And maybe the drums. But a copy, man!  Oh, maybe the bass and the other instruments.  And the guitar playing.
Maybe the guitar solo has a similar tone.  Hey, how can they do that?

This song is killing me right now, 2 friends passed away in the last 6 months 😢
Thank you RP somehow my musical education completely missed Camel! How can that be! Fortunately thanks to RP that musical gap has been filled along with so many more artists. This is why I love RP broadening my musical horizons to new  limits. Love live RP.
Yes, yes and yes....more Camel please!! Funny I am hearing this on Hump Day...say it, say it!!!!
Am I the only one hearing Jim Morrison’s ghost. When the music’s over….

There were quite a few bands that started in the 'home counties' - outside of London in the 60/70s. Notably in the SE - Surrey & Kent.
There was also the 'Canterbury scene' with bands like Soft Machine and Caravan, which had quite a dedicated following and a suprisingly strong fan-base in Japan!

Had a lot of guitar- and drum-jamming friends who loved and worshipped this band back in the day. Gotta say, still sounds pretty damn fine! Thanks, RP!

Hear Jim Morrison? Not me. Absolutely not. The vocalist reminds me of John Wetton of King Crimson and Asia, if anyone.

Terrific song! Well, there's a band that's been around a while. Almost shocking to see they put something out in 1999. I had bought "I Can See Your House From Here" in 1979. Not sure that one's aged so well, but this tune (and incarnation of the band) is quite nice.
"Rajaz" is Urdu for "Heroical."

They have been at the Prog Rock thing an looong time.   A friend turned me on to their earlier stuff and while they are no Yes, they are very good.

Th first gig that I went to was Camel at Sheffield City Hall.  I remember that the drummer was spectacular.  The Snow Goose is worth investigating, people.

Thank you RP for playing.
How have I never heard of this band before? When I have to stop working, turn up the volume, and close my eyes, that's something special.
this song makes me cry

Musical heaven.
However, his voice is too treacle for words. Like coming across the singer on the stairs at the Animal House frat house, I just want to make him stop!

Other than being critters though, not a lot the same, stylewise.

I think I saw these in the mid 70s, when I was a wee nipper

Moonmadness and Snowgoose are worth a listen for sure.

I embarrassingly am 'discovering' Camel for the first time and am very appreciative of Bill and RP introducing me to this band and to number7 for sharing the suggestion on Moonmadness. Wow - what a great album. I do not know how this band slipped through the cracks on my musical journey. Better late than never!!!

Gotta love Radio Paradise for moments like this!!!
Wow ...forgot how good they are ...
Under-rated in their day.  This has aged a lot better than stuff like Yes and a lot of Genesis.
Wow. Thanks again, RP, for filling in the musical blanks I missed through the years. Can't believe I didn't hear this in'99.
As a fan of Camel since 1976 I am very appreciative that you include them in you playlist.🐪🐫🐪🐫

Are you referring to David Gilmour? Whereas David Gilmour famously played a Fender Stratocaster, the guitar used on this track is, to my ears at least, a humbucker-equipped guitar.

Incredible!!!

Why only a 7.1 rating? Most like it, but not that much?
Good stuff, I was mildly into them way back in the day; glad RP is playing them.

Both the people I know who like them were fans from back in the early to mid 70's.
Not my favored fare, but good stuff none the less
people think this is hackneyed? Poor them

Ooooh. Camel.

A good but obscure guitar band.
Less bactrian, more dromedary to me.
Does it hurt? Definitely a 2 bricker.
Love this tune.  Maybe add some additional Camel tracks.  Ice from the I Can See LP.  And while you're adding.....  maybe something from Pat Metheny's Wichita Falls album, Japan's Despair, more David Sylvian, just about any track from Mark Isham's Vapor Drawings, Phi Manzanera's 801 Listen Now, Elephant from Jason Isbell, and new track from Sheryl Crow "Don't" from her new album.......
Utterly beautiful.

Noodling to the max.

Nice relaxing tune.

When the music’s over Turn out the lights
I discovered Camel late high school - 77 or 78. Moonmadness had just come out and fit into my trippy prog rock tastes and I collected a couple of albums on either side but drifted away from them by the early 80s. This has such a different sound that I had to check Wiki to see if it was the same band. Amazed to see it is and they're still touring - need to go exploring and catching up. Thanks again Bill - you always keep it interesting!
Wow was that bad. Ew.

Agree absolutely.  Both are terrific albums.

Want to better understand how Steven Wilson plays guitar?  Listen to Andrew Latimer.
There is not enough Camel on RP. And although Rajaz is great there is much more of Camel.

B B blues with a touch of magic from another place. Keep on!
Thankful for the PSD that brought me here once again.
Excellent. J'adore cette chanson ! Comment ne pas se laisser aller. Le thème absolu pour se décontracter :) Je l'ai découverte par hasard il y a une dizaine d'année et je ne m'en lasse pas.

Excellent. I like this song! How do not to let go itself. The theme absolved to relax.
I discovered her accidentally there is about ten year and I do not grow tired of it.
Thank you !

I doubt even Hallmark would use these lyrics; it's almost like they were written by a random lyric generator.  The Ziggy comic strip had more depth.
ziggy
The guitar work is very nice though.
The guitar reminds me on songs of Peter Green.
This is a band I have wanted to explore since my prog rock friends all speak highly of them, thanks RP for the reminder.
I love Camel even in the last and worst albums. However, that albums are better than modern music

I recognise camel's voice and style ipso facto

Wow, looking at the Wiki entry I see this is the same band so beloved of a college pal back in the 70s - and they have remained together all this time.

The things I learn on RP . . .
Pleasant enough. Wish it were to go a bit more minor in parts.

Eeeaaasy... Not my intention at all, i wouldn't know who came first or who influenced who or something like that. I'm just sayin' it sounds very identical to Snowy White at times, but you could put it the other way too i guess... It's just based on what i know, so.... No harm intended... {#Wink}
*edit, i googled it, it seems Snowy White is a year older than Andrew. So i guess it would be hard to say who influenced who... {#Think}
