At the time I saw this album as a big disappointment, an attempt at commercial success that flopped... in retrospect, this song isn't so bad; perhaps I should snag a copy again somewhere to flesh out my Shriekback collection.
This didn’t strike me a silly or celebratory… I took it like Cohen’s “Everybody Knows”. It’s a sardonic take on how common everyone really is. Maybe the ‘bang’ is how we try to get attention in a shared sea of homogeneous commonality of western existence.

I don't know... I think it's got cool lyrics. Nice to mix it up amidst the typically serious content.

I really like Shriekback, but this is definately not one of my favorites of theirs. Boo.
