This fear is only the beginning
All for the loving hand
Yes I smile and I agree
It is a good night to shiver
A good tounge might make it right
All Ive said above a whisper

There is a sorrow to be desired
To be sorrows desire

What they say is true
It is a dirty blue
This color around you
Your curled up warm
In your own little corner of Sodom
Did you agree to believe
This fall has no bottom

There is a sorrow to be desired
To be sorrows desire

All we move by the book of numbers
Im held together by string
Ii hear not the voices of others
The bells of Leuven ring
Fear not the faces of brothers
Ive come apart it seems

I see not the faces are covered
Im in your amber ring
Your amber ring

"Wovenhand's songs are known for their strong and unsettling Biblical references."

That's why The Gideons puts Bibles in hotel rooms: they don't want you to sleep...
Great song, haunting voice and tune, so many bands that we have discovered through RP
Former 16 horsepower frontman -
He drove a very early deux cheveau for sure, with free wheel front axle. Whow!

Bill, you are my favorite programmer. I needed a little of David Eugene's darkness today. Thank you!

why is there a picture of michael jackson on this album cover?
I love the music of Wovenhand SO much and am really bummed I only discovered 16 Horsepower (the previous iteration) after they broke up.
Crazy dark and brilliant

Around 8 would be fair cause this tune takes me every time it begins, that's what a great song do.

Got'em a 10. Easy
I believe I just discovered my taste for gothic country & neofolk

Influenced by Sisters of Mercy... or am I completely off?

Woven Hand and Nick Drake back to back. Bill, you never disappoint (except for Florence-but that's my issue!). Donation time!!!
Intense lyrics.

More muffled than a corduroy fart.  Not enjoying the effect.
Saw these guys in concert last week.  Awesome.
anyone hearing Richie Havens in this?

Love Woven Hand and 16 Horsepower.
Bill, you are my favorite programmer. I needed a little of David Eugene's darkness today. Thank you!
This is pretty badass {#Boohoo}

6 for now but likely some upside...
Not sure what the song is about, but it kinda rings my bell!!

Woven Hand wears one glove?!
Is it much of a stretch?  Only OJ knows for sure ..

The car chase was a goof, nobody drives a Ford Bronco.
One of my top-100's-ever, because of the guitar-riff, and wovens's voice
The guitar sounds like its straight off a New Model Army track......

It may have been said before and I'm sorry if I'm repeating anyone's comments, but doesn't that look like MJ on the album cover!?  How unfortunate.    Cool song though.

"Amber rain" - is that related to golden showers, perchance?

I'll get me dirty mac...

  "Amber ring", but I don't think you are far off.  {#Eek}

Nick-Cave-ish...
urgency wrapped in a song.....
..Veddery interesting..seriously, i can see getting into this, majorly..8 to start..
Thanks for this acoustic set. Nice way to wind down the day and slide into darkness...wet, cold, damp darkness...
really like these guys.
Never hear of them - but I think I like it!
I will have to look into this album.  Thanks RP.

I recently bought this CD and it has some hauntingly powerful songs that provoke VERY dark imagery.  This song is 'tame' compared to others on this CD. ick wrote:

Yet another band and song of which I'd never heard.  This is pretty intense and passionate - reminds me a little of Eddie Vedder, but the singer's got his own style that's even better.  I like this new-to-me discovery! {#Music}

Similar, but a lot darker and less folky. The two Woven Hand gigs I saw were a lot more intimate than the one with 16 HP, but the experience was always intense. Seeing D.E.E. get in a frenzy and beat the tambourine on his head for a full minute was very memorable. In the end, the audience was as exhausted as the band, even though the gigs didn't last much longer than an hour and 30 minutes or so. There were no encores, and that was fine with me. I needed some time to digest the music and the atmosphere.

Still loving this - in fact I picked up this cd and have found a number of awesome cuts. . .

Sounds like Louise Attaque...

Edit: Oh wait, I said that two years ago!

Just saw Woven Hand a few days ago in Fresno, CA and still can't shake it. I've been to a lot of shows over the years, but have never been to a performance as intense. It's so rare to find someone sing about loving and fearing God in a way that fits the message. I mean David Eugene Edwards plays like a God fearing man ought to play; it's powerful, haunting, beautiful.

I have come to really dig the Woven Hand stuff, maybe even more than 16 HP, which I loved at first listen. Glad to see it on RP, hopefully some more can make it's way into the play list.

Well put Shuteye .... I saw him in Montreal (his one and only visit to these parts) summer ' 09 and as a fan, to see him live is an incredible experience ..

this sounds good to my ears —-and mind

Nope. Doesn't work for me. Mediocre.
Is this Nick Cave's twin bro? {#Wall}
Still enjoying it...strikes a serious chord for me.

Madrugada anyone? 8
OMG! You are so right! I actually flew low over Neverland this past weekend on my way back up from LA to SF. It looks abandoned and sad. My 2 year old got really excited about the ferris wheel though and wanted me to land and take him there.

Beat it! :-) Wovenhand/Wovenband...Neverland, what's the difference? It's all so childish!

I am diggin' this. Never heard of Woven Hand before, thanks RP. Excellent vibe, great tune. Love it. Has that 80's Manchester sort of groove to it.
wow-very nice.
Great sound from this band !
Kinda Moody Blues + King Crimson. Like a Moody Purple King, -or - Prince.
Anyone else hear 'I Might Be Wrong' from Radiohead in the bassline??

woven hand is a side project of David Eugene Edwards, allows him to do more esotheric stuff, although he just has THAT sound so most things wil still remind you of 16hp, and that's not a bad thing at all!
Are we sure this isn't 16 Horsepower??
The music is pretty nice. The lyrics suck.
